It's amazing, I remember those air conditioned Flyers very well. 8484, 8485 & 8486 often ran on my route, I knew the moment I saw one of those numbers (or saw the AC unit on the back) it would be a nice ride with those comfy plush seats. I always wondered why the TTC bought them with those fancy leather seats. It's great to finally have this little mystery solved. Thank you!
God, the old Eglinton bus station at Yonge and Eglinton is so old school. Yes, that terminal closed like 15 years ago, but still. You know what I'm talking about.
Pretty cool neat history lesson plus watching all the cars in the background is sweet! I mean when was the last time you saw footage of a brand new AMC eagle wagon Limited!
Awesome video, great work. Some of the video must of been after 1991 because at 17 minutes there is a red (brand new) Toyota Corolla AE102 chassis that didn't come out in North America until around 1993-1994.
Missing info about the Orion-Ikarus: OC Transpo was the only other company that purchased this model and they also purchased 25 TTC units in 1997-1998 and ran until 2002-2003.
This is wonderful walk down memory lane

I rode one of those AC tour Flyers…. Wow I had totally forgotten. Thanks for that

Cool Thx for the memories I remember these on my way to school riding these new looks and classic busses.
This is tremendous! Can’t wait for part 3.
This is really cool I wonder if there’s a part 3
Maybe
I bet in 1996 the D40-90 fleets moved to Malvern Division for the 91 Orion V to move to Eglinton Division.
Wow, thanks for posting this, that’s epic!
D40-90 moved to Malvern Division in the 1990's
RIP Ray Neilson...thank you for everything transit!
Is the website still active? I placed an order a while ago and never got the DVD.
Talk to Joseph Chemerys. He is a well known friend to Ray.
@@Novaflyer7000...thanks! How do I get a hold of Joseph?
@@TheTransitMan123 DM him on Facebook.
Didn't the D40-90 move to Malvern in the 90's
Fun fact: The rear axle on the Orion III's also pivoted to help the rear end better navigate turns, no different than the YRT/VIVA Van Hool AG300
Those are better than NABI 436s

And there's an advertisement for The Cowboy Way which came out in 1994. Good call.
Part 3 Please
This is just an undated version of the 1977 Flyer D800 or AMGeneral 10240B-I know since I had one
can i see the part three of the Toronto city buses?
Missing info about the Orion-Ikarus: OC Transpo was the only other company that purchased this model and they also purchased 25 TTC units in 1997-1998 and ran until 2002-2003.
What also replaced them were the 135 40 foot Orion V lifts built in 1996, originally as NovaBUS Classics.
The TTC had Orion III's in service until 2003.
@@thewheatgreatness This is when the Orion VII buses came out!
@@keironforbes9512 The first Orion VII batch came out in 2002-2003.
When did buses start having automatic announcements?
Around 2006 as far as my research.
@@thewheatgreatness thanks
@@thewheatgreatness 2007*
@@Novaflyer7000 I just did further research on that and it was 2007.
It was 2007 actually. Sorry about that
This is really cool I wonder if there's a part 3
