All judges should be this thorough and kind to the dog- it also reminds handlers to be so kind and helps the dog show the best. I also noticed how she lets the handler square the dog off properly and is very patient so that the dog has a chance to show properly. Fantastic to see a judge feel for confirmation.
How much do i APPRECIATE this judge? 1000%. It’s been years since I’ve witnessed a judge actually touch, talk, feel and ask the questions of the exhibitors. This judge IS BEST IN SHOW! BRAVO!

It has been a very, very, very long time since I have watched a group judge truly JUDGE each dog to it's breed specifics. She was an absolute joy to watch judging each and every breed in her group. Not only did she actually examine each dog but asked questions and interacted with the dogs. GENIUS! Bravo!. You are Best In Show of Judging!!! So tired of watching judges just run their hands down the dog and not taking the time to examine each breed. It was a stoke of genius on the part of the National Dog Show 2022 to have her judging this group. Westminster take note!!!!.
That judge took no prisoners, especially for such a large group. Love her!

The most thorough judge in this show! She not only checks the standards but tries to get the dos to interact with her.
I like the little noises she makes in an effort to get the dog's attention. I'm hearing squeaky toys on occasion but I'm fairly certain those sounds are being made by the handlers -- I like it when they use toys instead of food.

He really shone. I was going to be quite surprised if he didn't make the cut at least, but it's thrilling to see him take first in group!

@@phillip9468 it looks like they are not recognized as a breed for this show. Wikipedia says “In the US, the Patterdale Terrier was recognised by the United Kennel Club on January 1, 1995, but remains unrecognized by the American Kennel Club.”
What about Boston terrier!?

@@callumanderson2645 Not all breeds which carry the name "terrier" are included in the AKC Terrier Group. As an example, the Black Russian Terrier isn't included in this group either. Boston Terriers are probably not included in the Terrier Group due in part to the fact that they have bulldog ancestry. They're part of the Non-Sporting Group.
So admired this judge. She had a kind word for every dog and she was thorough in her judging each dog. Wonderful! What is her name?

I love judges like her. Also those that let the audience hear what they write about every dog. Or put out two similar breeds to show similarities and differences between the breeds.
Wow, the Terriors are a class act, closely followed by the wonderful judge. Most of these breeds are not seen on my average walk!

The parsons and the Jack Russell terrier were SO CUTE
Yeah the first one was cute and then the short legged one was even cuter! Also the Wheaten had a super long beard, I really liked it

One thing which was nice to see was the way in which they kept their attention on the handlers rather than letting their eyes wander -- even though terriers are very curious and can become distracted. That's very good training -- and by and large, terriers aren't the easiest dogs to train.

I noticed that terriers have to be much more bribed with treats than the other groups. Hahaha.
@@MIZZKIE - I've had Scotties for over 50 years. Tough as nails and STUBBORN but would die for their person. If you throw a ball you get a look like "You want ME to get it??? You threw it dummy!" Everywhere I go I hear "Oh look, a Scottie dog!" Don't see them often. Thinking of an miniature English bull terrier for my next dog because Scotties do require a lot of grooming.
@@MIZZKIE I started by watching English bulldogs who needed nothing and was surprised to see other breeds are so demanding, haha. :)

My GSD is at the end of her life and I was feeling down so my daughter found this video for me and it's so wonderful remembering back on all the wonderful times we've had together. Your dog is so like mine. We'd hike the woods for hours and she loved swimming in the river. I call her my land porpoise. Thanks for the videos and I wish you many happy years together with your pup.

They are the smartest breed and easy to train. But we had one that had a strange stance when he peed resulting in a wipe down of his stomach all the way up to his chin. Lol.
One of the smartest and most playful dogs I have ever known was a Kerry Blue. He belonged to my bestie.

I love terriers above all breeds -- probably because my family had Cairns when I was a child and I think I have a terrier temperament myself (intelligent, independent, and a bit feisty) -- but I have a real soft spot for Bedlingtons.
That AmStaff and his handler are so impressive. Clearly deserved.

The brown English Staffy bull terrier is my favourite breed of all time- they are so calm, loyal, fun and sweet a perfect breed for children with a garden
The correct term for Staffie is. Staffordshire Bull terrier. In UK call them English Staffies, & are larher.. Amstaffare American Staffordshire ter.

Loved this chance to learn more about terriers! Can anyone tell me what the judge is looking for when she picks the terriers’ back legs up gently by the base of the tail and then puts them back down? I obviously don’t see this done with the larger dogs, is it to test tail strength or something else?
If they were bread to hunt burrowing animals then the owner would pull the dog out by its tail

My father had a small Manchester Terrier in NZ. It was a part of a Pig Hunting team. There was a 'Finder', a 'Bailer' and a 'Holder'. Tip, the Terrier, his Role was to hold the Wild Boar by its' Testicles ... think about it, completely Fearless wee dog !! My brave Dad would move in and Stick the boar with a knife. No guns as too dangerous for the dog Team. Pigs, 'Captain Cookers' were introduced into New Zealand and are a Pest. Good eating.
