Riu Palace Peninsula (Cancun,MX) - Virtual Tour of our Room

Stayed in room 1125 in October 2012 located on the 11th floor, 3rd room from the left just above the empty space in the center of the building. There are 17 floors in total (no 13th floor). Excellent view of the resort and ocean. All rooms are ocean view with choice of king size or 2 double beds. There are no rooms facing the front of the building. Corner rooms are suites. They have a larger balcony with jacuzzi and view on 3 sides. Villas are in the small buildings to right of the resort. It doesn't look like they have as nice a view. I am happy to answer any questions you might have, and I will also be posting a virtual tour that I took of the resort. This video was filmed using the Olympus Tough TG-1 iHS waterproof camera. Excellent compact digital camera for vacations.

We switched from the Riu Caribe. Upon arrival around 10am, we found out our room would not be ready until 3pm. Not one of the room requests we made could be honored. And the resort was not as nice as represented in the photos. We had no regrets about switching to the Riu Palace Peninsula, it was just beautiful and the service was beyond our expectations. We visited the other 3 Rius during our vacation, and felt this one was the nicest and most spacious. Have a great trip!

This is a regular room. All rooms have an Ocean View. We booked through Trip Central (in Canada). They have a great website.

I would like to know if food is unlimited in this resort, can you eat anytime you want for free? ( I get confused with food part, this is going to be my first trip, can you pls explain it) How much did you tip? Thank you!

Yes .. there is 24 hour room service and the sports bar open 24 hours has sandwiches, hot dogs burgers (to microwave_)salads fruit chips baakery goods etc

+Sandy Mirabitur It was a standard room. As far as I know, all of the rooms in the main building are standard rooms with ocean view. There are also villas on the property.

Very strange open bathroom layout ! Fine for couples but not people with teens and such.

There is an additional closed in shower area with amazing features.. I believe they now have dividers for the jacuzzi area
