Thank you If you crochet the strap and you do not want braids, I would suggest to attach the strap on the inside of the bag. Another option is to attach on the outside and sew the yarn through the bag and then weave in the ends on the inside of the bag. With a woven strap, you can cut the yarns end glue the end

@@alexandrafangl4270 it could be that your starting chain was too loose. Take your time when you make the first row. Count your stitches every 2 cm or 1 inch. Make sure you always have the same number of stitches per 2 cm or 1 inch. You need 7 to 8 stitches per 2 cm / 9 to 10 stitches per 1 inch.

Eka Yulia When you do the first pull through of the stitch yarn under, the ‘legs’ of the v cross. This makes the stitch smaller and therefore it is harder to hide the yarns you carry. When you are able to do yarn under without the yarns showing, it gives an extra structure to the stitch. Some people like that. That is all yarn under does. When you are very loose crocheter it can help to do the second pull through yarn under. This finishes the stitch tighter for some people. I recommend to always do the first pull through yarn over.
