I absolutely love listening to Lou talk Sox baseball the man is intelligent, knows who and what he's speaking about and is NOT afraid to speak his mind! Great interview!
Is there any truth to the talk that Devers has language in his contract guaranteeing him a certain amount of years at 3B? Would a team really give a player something like that? Would certainly limit their options.
I think the reticence to a long term Bregman contract is his age and what has happened with Trevor Story so far…Arredondo same thing. Bregman would be good in Fenway but not close to as good as the Houston bandbox!
Sunday, January 19, 2025 My View: (1) Don't sign Alex Bregman. (2) Keep Tristan Casas at 1B. (3) Move Rafael Devers to DH. (4) Bring up and install Marcelo Mayer at 3B: (5) Bring up and install Kristian Campbell at 2B. (6) Bring up and install Roman Anthony in the OF. Sincerely, Pablo *
@@andrewsullivan3180 as an Astros fan, I agree with you that he is not worth a big time contract, but not sure I’d say he’s past his prime. My biggest concern is his health, he’s had 2 surgeries on his elbow over the last 3-4 years and it seems to becoming a problem. He’ll be one of the better 3B for another 3-4 years, but I see his 34/35 season being a noticeable drop off. Would of loved to see him sign and finish career in Houston, but fans here are happy with the organizations pivot. I do think Boston would be a good fit though
I know I will get hate for this comment. The Red Sox have a Raffy Devers problem. He is not good enough to play third but doesn't want to leave. He doesn't want to try first which is not a real problem because Casas is fine. He does not want to be a leader. He does not hustle. He may be the best offensive player on the team but he is holding the Red Sox hostage. Trade him now while he still has value. Get Bregman or Arrenado and be done with it.

Lou Merloni is awesome. He needs to be on that NESN game announcer permanently... He is perfect for it... SIGN Bregman, he puts us over the top...
You're so right Lou Merlinani the signing should have been yesterday!!!
They are signing Bregman.

Bregman Cora wants to move to Second Base
woah Arenado isnt going into the hall of fame. Numbers are not there
There is no place on the Red Sox for Bregman, a guy on the downslide, unless Devers moves to first or DH. That is not happening.
These two hosts have a face for radio
Really! Why go there?
Sign Bregman already. He will destroy that monster and can play 2nd or 3rd base. Sign him before it’s to late

Who is Drew Story?
@ ha! You are right…TREVOR Story…He is out so much I got his name wrong.

I don't want anything to do with bregman
Why?
@akdfghadflkgnkj already past his prime and wants a long term, big money deal...those never work out well.

@@andrewsullivan3180you're right. Just leave the money in John Henry's bank account. That's what makes the most sense.
Rather have Tanner Scott.
WTF is wrong with me ? Why do I keep allowing myself to fall for this ? We all know the Sox aren’t spending any Real $$$
They spent money but again keep spinning a narrative
Who did they spend $ on ? Please tell me what I missed out on ?
As a Diehard Red Sox fan, please no Alex Bregman. Can not stand that guy.
Why?
Useless post

What about David Hamilton? Nick Sogard?
Those guys are no starting 2nd baseman. Are you forgetting about Vaughn Grissom? Right now he is the 2nd baseman
We won't get him,.... where's the rest of em...offers are made to everyone and no one wants to play here....the john Henry shit show
Let Grissom And Campbell Develop In The Minors. Then Trade Yoshida At The Deadline And Move Bregman To 3rd Make Sense!
Grissom is the 2nd baseman right now. What are you talking about lol
