I'm getting really disgusted by them not giving in to Duran yet.

I’m happy with what they did with our starting rotation, but we need to add a bat or two now

@@JohnnyD603hahaha are you nuts man?Vlad is way too much money for our front office to part with.We are now a small market team man.Oh hey the Dodger's just signed Sasaki so it's pretty much a rap for the foreseeable future...I would love to see Vlad play for the Sox though.

@@JamesBerry-s7vI think they want Vladdy, but Toronto would be nuts trading him within the division and would want way too much for one season. The Red Sox will be "in on" Vladdy in free agency and I think will spend big money for him because he's still in his 20s (or at least they'll give that impression that they will, but the reality is that if the Mets want him, John Henry will never get into a bidding war with Steve Cohen of the Mets. The Dodgers won't need him because they have Freeman and Vladdy hates the Yankees, so they're probably out of the mix too. They talk a good game about getting "uncomfortable"; but in reality they will only get uncomfortable if it's entirely on their terms. Their philosophy has shifted to short term contracts for guys in their 30s (not entirely wrong) and trying to buy a year or two of free agency on their young players with team friendly deals. If Henry could dump his #2 & #3 biggest multi season contracts in Story and Yoshida, he'd do it in a heartbeat, but the rest of the teams would want half those contracts covered by him and he's not willing to do that, especially after looking silly by trading Sale away for a prospect in Grissom who may turn out to be a bust and also paying half of Sale's salary to win the Cy Young and stay healthy for the first time in years. He probably wishes he'd traded Devers even, instead of signing him to that huge contract, but after losing out on Betts (forced trade) and Bogey (crazy FA contract), he figured the fans would totally revolt. My biggest issue will be if they don't sign Crochet to an extension before the season. If they're not going to spend any real money, it is absolutely imperative that they sign him and don't wait till next year to try because they're going to end up losing him and he'll end up being a 2 year rental. The only possible move I can see them making is Bregman and only if he accepts one of Boras' famous pillow contracts and takes a 3 year contract (for a higher AAV) with opt outs and maybe a team or mutual option for a 4th year. Maybe some incentives thrown in there too. Until Boras swallows his pride and accepts something like that, I don't think he's coming to Boston, even though you just know he wants to. I don't see any other right handed bat in FA that will move the needle and Arranado Is 3 years older then Bregman and will cost Casas and others. I think they need to add one more bullpen arm, but I doubt they'll give Tanner Scott 4 years. Maybe Kirby Yates for 2 years, but he's like 38 years old and they'd probably not want to go more than one year with a reliever that age. I really think all this cost cutting and 1 year contract stuff is to shoot for Vladdy next off-season. If that's the plan, Henry had better be prepared to go all in and not just 75% in.

I like a combo of both. Sign Bregman and trade for vlad and a Seattle pitcher.

Seattle won't trade George Kirby, especially for unproven Red Sox assets. FanGraphs currently projects the Mariners on the postseason bubble, ranking sixth in overall 2025 WAR, including sixth in position player WAR and seventh in pitching WAR. FanGraphs projects the Red Sox seventh in overall 2025 WAR, including second in pitching WAR and 14th in position player WAR.
