Nino cleaned the food and took photos to prove it. That's why the food was so nice
despite the restaurant closing, she still cooks, and has a facebook page where it looks like she does catering now as well as being a "guest chef"(?) at local pubs and such. She seems to be doing okay.

This is absolutely my most favorite just because it's not the typical moron opening up a business not knowing anything about it at all, but rather it's someone who really knows how to cook and is nice and competent 😁
That’s what a lot of the uk version is. There are some where he was at Michelin star restaurants that lost their way.
She unfortunately had to get rid of the restaurant. But she still cooks and has a youtube channel. It's Momma Cherri. Edit; and apparently she opened a new restaurant. I just found out.

@lewiscastor1925 they were open for years actually, and Mama even opened a bigger restaurant afterwards. She thrived and eventually closed from what I remember. Regardless Gordon loved her food

I believe in the episode, she said she was a foster mother for many years. You can tell from her personality that she is a woman with a lot of love to give and it shows through her cooking. Cherri is a rare kind of person the world needs more of.
I absolutely love this episode. They knew how to cook. They just needed to learn how to run a business and that’s like 75% of being a chef.

You can't get higher praise than this. If I were a cook or restaurateur and I got this compliment from Gordon I would be as proud as if I got a Michelin star.
This was my favourite episode of all episodes. He really cared about the business and he really enjoyed making the episode

Sucks that this place isn’t around anymore. Hope they are doing better now.
With marks like that from him, I'd like to think she got the offer to be a chef at a nearby restaurant.
I think right after this she tried opening another restaurant nearby. But that didn't go well either. Later she wrote cook books and created her own TH-cam channel named "Momma Cherri" where she uploads to this day. There is definitely more about her, but this is all I remember from the back of my head. :)

One of the best episodes ever, not the best ending, but Momma Cherri will forever live in the hearts of KN fans everywhere as arguably the best owner in the shows history. Also Catfish is one of the hardest fish to cook, because it feeds on complete crew. The fact GR likes it says a lot about the recipe.

It looks like the restaurant failed years ago, but she runs a catering company that appears to still be in business as of 2023.

WOW! Very interesting, I always had a feeling that Gordon usually says that he doesn't like the food (even when it's good) for the cameras but here we see that he will admit when the food is good. It's is crazy scary to see how many restaurants have bad tasting food and how in denial the people are that run the establishments! Glad to see a time when the food was actually palatable, it's even crazier because I'm sure that he is expecting the food to taste terribly so his mind is already geared in that direction. So to have him say otherwise shows that the food must have been perfect and spot on, mate!

Imagine being able to say "Gordon Ramsay cleaned his plate at my restaurant". Amazing flex, lol.
When she said that she hopes he likes her main dish, you can tell the pressure was on full bore. However, she heard him say that he enjoyed the first dish, so you think she would feel a little confident in presenting the main dish. Still, all in all, she was definitely one of the better cooks that chef Ramsay encountered.

I would love to see the entire episode to see what Gordon thought was the problem. It seems like the food was good she just needed help with advertising and marketing her business.
That’s pretty much it. The other was having Mama Cherri step back as a chef, and more as the face of the restaurant.
Location was awful. Brighton was not the place.

Sometimes it's nicer to watch the more wholesome moments of Gordon interacting with aspiring chefs and restaurateurs who have the skill and kindness that deserve nothing but compliments and praise. We don't get to see this warm and fuzzy side of him as often beyond stuff like Masterchef Junior, or at least this isn't what elicits the most social buzz just because it's not a display of ranting, raving, and swearing at incompetence or overinflated egos like so many other dimwits evoke from Ramsay.
I hope she’s still open. If she impressed Gordon, they are great chefs and deserve success.
