Why use spire and intensity of resolute at the same time? Doesn’t just resolute get you over 100%? Maybe just spire and a glyph when resolute is down? Edit: I figured it out. It is because robes have a quicker refresh. So you use robes first and then intensity and spire for the crit damage buff, not the crit chance only.
Regarding the rate you were losing mana - I was looking at the Shak Dathor Warlord on 'Zam. His two effects listed there - a PBAE (unresistable) and a targeted AE (unresistable) - both had mana reducing components. I wasn't able to see how often they happened during your fight, but it may have contributed to how much mana you were using/losing. It looks like the targeted one could be avoided fairly easily (pet would be the target, and the AE range was only 50), but the PBAE one had a 150 range (avoidable, but not as easily). Might be worth noting if someone else was trying to reproduce this with a lower mana pool. Avoiding those might make it more doable for someone in that case.
Great catch on that G3. I think you are right on - and remember I was using Funeral Pyre in burn 1 so that increases mana cost by 35% as well as the drains. Definitely should have backed up some to avoid any boss specials. But with Blood Magic there is nothing to worry about, even if you are running with T1 gear by now our mana and HP pools are large enough to handle any T1 boss. They just do not have enough to hold up against a decent burn. I believe I mentioned this below but my DPS was junk due to missing out on so many of my burn 2 ticks. I ended the fight with 10 twincasts left!
Xellen, thank you for all your videos. It has been a huge help in learning the Necro. I have a quick question. Would you be able to make a video or explain how you are casting your spells? Are you using a macro key or a quick key set for your spells? I never see you using your cursor to cast. If you have explained that in a video, please reference it. I just want to be more efficient. You can hear my keyboard spazzing out when I'm recording these videos. It's also why sometimes I say things like 3 and 4 are blinking. I cast more or less everything using ALT and the spell number. So for me, ALT + 3 is big pyre. I also spam things like FD which is on my hotkey 1 and number 0 so when things get a bit weird you'll hear like 7 or 9 clacking sounds that's me hitting 00000000 like a doofus. I started playing EQ back on dial up so lag was real and I got used to spamming everything just in case. Never been able to let it go.
Brent sometimes I just use twincast and robes. ToL is just that easy. Wounds is awesome for the timer aspect if you want to go with the 2 phase burn or if you are worried about adds/respawns. On T1 named sometimes I just treat it like a trash mob if I'm honest. I wish this had been a T2 with some more HP as the burn still had 10 twincasts left and ended in less than 3 minutes. Still a lot of DPS to put out.
I just did a quick kill of Nightfall in UP only used Burn 2, didn't bother with Burn 1. On the lesser hitpoint mobs (T1) it's best to skip it. 134 seconds, 1.7 million DPS. So it's really just what situation are you in? If you know it's a going to be a 4 or 5 minute fight go with the full burn, otherwise use what you like and what works best for you!
If you have time before you start, getting a chaotic power proc with elder beads is a good way to start. Get that boost of dmg with no downside especially if you are starting with funeral pyre. though t1 mobs don't last too long when going full burn with a glyph
100% right D. But with any boss in ToL it's not worth the effort. If however you're on a raid or you're not sure if your Jober will hold up then for sure go with an elder bead eye and nuke that thing until you get a proc and run from there.
Same percentage as always. Power creep is a real thing and if it didn't happen we'd all be hitting for 12 damage points and using a +2 Str dagger. Plenty of people play the game and plenty of people come back every day after years off because there is nothing else like EQ.

I'd like to add that I started playing EQ in 1999 and still use the account even now. But the games just gotten to be very dull and near impossible to play.
Have you ever just used a 2 hand weapon? I bought the raid ore for the “Luclinite Coagulated Arcane Staff” tonight. In all the years I’ve played the class, I’ve never ran with a 2 hand setup.
@Bryan2075 I looted a Blood-Soaked staff early on in the expansion. As soon as I was able to switch back to dagger and shield I did. I prefer the stats off the combo versus the staff alone. I also prefer the proc on the dagger, but as a raid necromancer I could see the additional DPS (although minor) from a DD proc from the staff as being the superior choice. No I do not log into Beta expansions. I like to go into each expansion with as little knowledge as possible. I will utilize www.eqresources.com for some spawn points but I like to enjoy a few days of mystery and newness until it all ends up the same numbers game.

It won't spoil the entire raid I would think as they seem to never have things sorted out well into release but at least you can get a bit of early knowledge. That's one thing that I find greatly lacking is the high end raid breakdowns of the last 5 or 6 expansions. I see a lot of straight up recordings of raids but no one really goes over what is happening and why or gives stupid rambling commentary on their actions like I do. I'm sure there are some discord channels or something but I'm a basic EQ player. ZAM, EQR and the official forums is about as much as I dig into things online anymore besides of course the small TH-cam community for EQ.
