I watched Bradley on The Move with Lance Armstrong and George Hincapie during stages of the 2024 Tour de France and started to warm to him - especially after the media here in the UK was posting news relating to his financial woes. His appearance then was an eye-opener but in a good way. His appearance on High Performance seems to be a continuation of this rehabilitation - which for Bradley, can only be a good thing and offering as it does a peace of mind on some level. Keep up the good work Bradley.

Brilliant interview. We expect SO much from these complex humans, all in the name of entertainment (for us) while they are challenging and wringing every gram out of themselves in pursuit of their own complicated objectives, agenda and validation. Also, SO GLAD to hear another experienced GOAT stand up for Lance Armstrong - the person. Very few among us can hold a candle to the efforts Lance has made to improve the lives of others while also recognizing his own issues and working through them out in the open as he has.

You know, Wiggins was never one of my favorite riders. Watching interviews and his behavior he always seemed so cranky and I just didn’t like his persona. However, I would tell myself don’t fall into the trap. I don’t even know this guy he might be a good guy if I got to know him. Well, now I’m really getting to know him and he really has a nice spirit about him. It was just the overwhelming stress of being a top athlete and the pressure. I always try to remember not to judge people too much because now, I really like him and his honesty. He’s really exposing his vulnerabilities and I think that will help others. Kudos to him.

Sir Brad, you must know that you are loved. Not simply for your achievments on the bike. You are respected for your sincerity. In this world of corruption, positive characteristics mean a great deal to us all. Winning the Tour was a hell of a thing, but I think you're greatest achievements are yet to come. Dig in there buddy.

Brad Wiggins is a genuinely decent bloke.
He has done an amazing job for British Sport.
Alongside that he is a caring human.
Some years ago my female friend M was working on the production team on “The Jump”, a UK TV show which took celebs and tried to turn them into ski jumpers.
Her aunt died from terminal illness during the show. M was naturally extremely upset.
M told me the story that Brad, having only met her in passing on the show, brought her a coffee and croissant having seen her sitting alone one morning and asked if she was ok, having learned about her loss, from colleagues on production team.
A very kind and thoughtful gesture.

Elite athletes aren't like the rest of us, they can't be. The part of them that is willing to torture themselves on a daily basis, for decades, often comes from a dark place.
Also they aren't part of "real life" until their career is over, and they suddenly have to deal with the mundane routine of living. They are institutionalised by their elite routine. "Eat this now, go to sleep now, train now, rest now, drink this now, eat now ....." from being a teenager until their thirties.
I can fully understand why so many find the transition, from Elite to "normal", is so difficult, especially if their elite routine was helping hide the "dark place" that helped them become elite.
Wiggo is finally confronting what it was that made him the best on the planet. That has to be good news.
As a final note, can I say that watching him help lead-out his mate Mark Cavendish to the Champs Elysees in Paris, whist wearing Yellow, is up there with my all time favourite sporting moments.

There's far too much forgiveness for lance. "Everyone was on drugs" etc. yeah, largely because of people like him. He didn't just dope. He threatened, slandered and fired people. He was a bully who ruined lives. That team took doping to a whole new level, forcing everyone in the peloton to risk their own health doping or lose their career. His remarks since show he has no genuine remorse whatsoever. He's a sociopath.

@LAndrewNext now tell me the difference between what lance did, and what Eddy merckx did, Bernard hinault, indurian. What's the difference? From your own understanding, lance stole 1 single race a year against a peloton who has the same ability to make the same choices, who had similar programs if not worse. Fausto coppi's era made way for the modern doper. Again. These riders cheated every single race they entered. Lance only entered 1 a year. Think about that ....
