Catfish on the Death card... The ultimate bottom feeder, taking the leftovers to give itself life or you could look at it as something living in the muck and mud - there is still life in the darkness. i really appreciate that kind of symbology.
I do wish Liminal 11 would give a little more space in the guidebooks for the artists to address the actual art of the card. All their decks have such interesting art, I feel like I want to know more of what the artists were thinking!
Just some observations, this is a heavily Taoist inspired deck. Duality and yin and yang symbols everywhere. The king of pentacles especially gives me Lao Tsu vibes, he’s a mytho-historical figure from ancient China and he is considered the founder of Taoism and he’s always pictured riding an ox. That bonus card Wu Wei is a Taoist principle, basically it translates to action through inaction. In other words sometimes it’s best to just step aside and let things work themselves out. Go with the flow. I wasn’t looking to buy any more decks but I may have to on principle lol. Thank you for the lovely review and hello Bruno ❤️
I just saw this video. I paused the video in the middle, went on Amazon and bought this deck. I can’t believe the quality at such an affordable price. I think this is the most expressive deck I’ve seen. I absolutely love all the little details. It’s a Rws inspired deck with a twist. I just love it and can’t wait to receive and start using it. I’m a healer and a light worker. I’d like to use Tarot to help heal others. That’s what I’ve been called to do. I’d also like to show them tarot is not scary. ☀️☀️☀️
Love this deck! Also, looked like a bee on the empress' staff. I love bees! Thanks so much for sharing. I think I will definitely be getting this one when preorders open!
Love your deep dives!!!! I always feel like I learn something new. 10 of Wands looks like George Carlin (the hairline). If This Might Hurt Tarot is the confident, no-nonsense Peggy-ish deck, maybe Luna Sol is the partner, softer, gentler, more femme Lisa-ish deck? Just an observation. Always a joy to watch. Thanks.
Such a wonderful walk-through! Made even more special because I went through each card in my Luna Sol deck while you went through yours, which made it even more "real". I learn so much from your deep dive videos, which I think I've commented in... like, every deep-dive I've seen, ha. In this deck especially, all the animals make me happy. That cute unicorn nomming on the grass in the Sun card! And the owl on the sword of the Queen of Swords! 🦄🐂🐫🐍🐟🐘🦋🦀🐌🦇🐝🦉🦊😺🐑 Happy sigh. I most identify with the Queen of swords and I love her badassery in this deck.
I just got this deck, and really love the diversity and symbolism in it! Your review was really helpful in pointing out several details I had missed in the illustrations.
This is the deck that I wanted to get for my very 1st deck but it wasn't available at the time! Love this deep dive walk through, it's always so helpful to hear your take on the cards and to have some of the symbology identified. We'll see if I end up being able to resist this deck... I have the This Might Hurt Tarot and the Cosmic Slumber Tarot, which are of course different from this deck, but they do have some similarity in being a more modern graphic novel type art style.
Omg WANT!!! The color palette’s so beautiful!!! And we have a Luna Sol street here in my area in Manila, Philippines! I didn’t buy the Modern Witch or the Cosmic Slumber, but this one I’ll probably purchase! Thanks for sharing, Lisa! 🌝🌞
I've got the first edition and is not glossy, is more like waxy,,I truly adore it , definitely getting the new one as backup, thanks for the walk through 🌞
I believe this deck has a lot of kabbalistic references. Like the trees: tree of life and tree of knowledge. The fish on the Death card is related to the Path on the tree of life, the same as the water on the hanged one card. Amazing work!
Wonderful review Lisa, You have given me much to think about with the card meanings, I love these in depth symbology walkthroughs that you do, thank you so much. Xx
I have the original printing of this deck, and you’re totally making me want to pull it back out! I’m glad it looks like nothing was changed about the art or guidebook so I don’t feel like I have to buy the new printing. (Although part of me wants to buy it just so all my Liminal 11 boxes match 🤣). I’m totally going to take out all the majors and go on a hunt for bees in every card tonight.
I dove deep because I find that fun - but I think this is a very beginner friendly deck.... I DO think that other decks with chunkier guidebooks would also work well, and perhaps better if you want a lot of guidebook support. :) But imagery wise, you can totally work this one shallow or deep!
Amazing video! I love your interpretation and enthusiasm. I actually have been on the fence about this deck, and I had to pause your video to order it haha! And also, I actually watched your entire video! Like it's long but been very nice to listen to while I work. My busy life doesn't always let me look into my decks as much as I'd like, and you've given me a great head start with your symbolism talk!
Thankyou for doing this flip through. I did have this deck on my wish list for a long time but I'm going to take it off. I think the artwork and colours are beautiful, but I am not loving The Lovers card. I know you pointed out various things that point to divine connection and gratitude in a relationship, but I see a the guy as bowing to the woman, which I see as a submissive role rather than an equal role in a relationship. I wouldn't use the deck because of this card.
Really love the way you dive into the little symbols in the cards. I would love to learn more about all these - do you have a recommended resource for this? All the stuff I've read so far just tells me the meaning of the card as it stands rather than giving me an understanding of the deeper symbolism
A lot of the deeper stuff (for me) has come from slowing down and taking things in and comparing what I see to what I know about that card and finding connections... a practice that develops over time for sure. In the beginning (and still) I relied on the guidebooks that accompany the decks to dive deep!
@@Lisa_Papez Thank you for taking the time to reply - it does seem time is a key part of this, maybe I'm a bit too impatient!! I've pre-ordered the new edition luna sol after hearing your review and am doing some study into tarot gradually and have come to realise it is something I can enjoy getting better at over time.
I honestly have no idea - I would reach out to the publisher, Liminal11 on Instagram or via their website and ask them... mabye they can shed some light on it?
The lovers. The soul split into two energies, the Devine female and the Devine male. The female is looking up as she is more connected to spirit. The male is more connected to the earthly plain. Just my 2 cents on the lovers symbolism
11:04 It looks like a bee on her wand to me. 👑 (and as the video progressed I saw the pattern of the bee throughout many cards) 13:33 Right away I got the "as above, so below" feel from this card. ⚡🌱 Ohhhh...another deck going on my wish list. doesn't mean I will buy it, but it made the wish list. 🌟 Thanks to you and Liminal 11 for making this sneak peek walk through possible. Well done! 🌈-Angela
Ohhhh there was a link? Yah I think YT auto removes those because most links that are commented are spammy on this platform! I LOVE that every card has a ladybug and I'm not sure HOW I missed that but I'm going to take a second look FOR SURE!

Omg I know right !!! It can give us further insight to the colours and symbols they use

Three cards in and I've hit pre-order. What a gorgeous deck, Lisa made me do it😆😍
I love it how you detect all those little details in the cards. I overlooked a lot of them. It makes me more observant in other cards. Thank you Lisa!
Your deep dives help me see card meanings in new ways! Bumping this deck up my list.

Oh I love this! :) so glad you enjoyed it!! Can't wait to do another deep dive!!
Lisa as always an excellent video, I listened carefully, took notes. thank you for your generosity and hello to Peggy.
I love that you showed the thickness. That was so helpful! Thank you for this wonderful review. 💕✨

I have the first one, I truly recommended, It's such a honest deck, I keep it to read to miself only , you'll love it
I’ve been waiting for this deck for what feels like forever. Pre-ordered this new edition on amazon. Can’t wait!
What would you pair with this deck? I love it!
This is a lovely deck and your comments showed the depth of symbolism and imagery here. Thanks for the deep dive!
I've got the first edition and is not glossy, is more like waxy,,I truly adore it , definitely getting the new one as backup, thanks for the walk through 🌞
The colouring reminds me of This Might Hurt Tarot.

This deck can be so gentle with me . . . and also super salty 😅I love it nonetheless! I'm dying to know how it works for you, xoxoxo
I really enjoy the entire look, color scheme, symbolism. Definitely on my wish list ! Thank you for sharing!
I have to say thank you. Thank you a lot for this video and your deep thoughts on each card.
Thank you, Lisa everything you described I loved about this deck.
Re: Death card. The Hebrew letter assigned to Death is Nun which means 'fish'. You can see it in the Thoth deck as a catfish too. :)

Just preordered! I’ve been waiting for this forever! I’m curious to see how it reads. It looks gentle, but looks can be deceiving 😉
I'm excited to really work with it!
This is an overwhelming amount of symbology! Would you recommend this deck for a beginner?

Really enjoyed this, and I learned so much about tarot! Thanks for a great video.
I am just SO excited for this deck! Thank you for the deep dive!
Wow isn’t that a fantastic deck. I love it ❤️
I cannot contain my excitement for this deck 🥰🥰

Amazon has a choice. What is unbound refer to? It’s a little more pricey but I’m confused as to what to choose.
I honestly have no idea - I would reach out to the publisher, Liminal11 on Instagram or via their website and ask them... mabye they can shed some light on it?
Lovely deck .
I think it's a catfish on the death card. I wonder what the association is.
And done !
Do all the cards have astrology associations on them? :)
Awwwww, Bruno 🥰!
the justice card has a cat in the water not a sea lion.

What do you make of the fact that the guy in the nine of wands card is so beat up. He’s got scrapes all over and a bandage on one leg.
11:04 It looks like a bee on her wand to me. 👑 (and as the video progressed I saw the pattern of the bee throughout many cards)
13:33 Right away I got the "as above, so below" feel from this card. ⚡🌱

My comment re: 2nd natureT and the lady bugs was deleted. Have you seen it?
That's really strange, I haven't deleted any of your comments. I didn't see your lady bug comment! Maybe YT did a weird thing? I LOVE ladybugs!!
@@Lisa_Papez Maybe it's because of the link. Anyway, every card has a lady bug in it.

Looks like a catfish on the death card.
The fish looks like a cat fish.
