This deck! What a great surprise. I had not heard anything about it really. I love so many cards. The 3 of swords unfortunately is a deal breaker for me. This is not how I see the card at all and the animal suffering is also not how I see my 3's but so many other cards are inventive and original and diverse and beautiful. Thank yo so much for sharing. I liked hearing your reflections on it.

That 9 of cups makes me want this because I struggle the most with 9 of cups: it means contentment and self hobbies
This deck is honestly worth buying to me just for the world card 😍😍😍😍 but there are so many wonderful details throughout this deck!! Im still stuck on how all the writing instruments in the nine of wands are chewed and how the rain is bouncing off the swords in the eight of swords. Lovely!!!
Also turns out you do have the option to buy the deck with the holographic edges if you order it after the Kickstarter, and I don’t want to talk about how I now know that. 😂😂😂

Such interesting choices. The 3 of Wands sums up a lot of the deck - very modern - yet then we have Anubis for Judgement. There's several jarring juxtapositions for me. The Empress is really quite wonderful as a modern depiction. The colouring is divine. Thank you for a lovely long walk-through. Blessings x

Listening to you talk about this deck is helping me get excited about it all over again. I was so pumped to get it, then did a reading with it and kind of struggled and felt disconnected. Just means I need to keep working with it, I think! I was cocky and it brought me down a peg.
When I first saw this deck online, I couldn't hold back from buying it even though it was very expensive (shopping in CAD and having to get it shipped to Canada added to that). But I felt very strongly that it was worth it. The creator of this deck did such a wonderful, intentional job with it. I was already referring to the online guidebook as it was really helping me to understand and connect with the cards (I'm a beginner), so I desperately wanted to support the creator and hold a copy of it in my hands. This deck just screams high quality when you open it and look through the cards. :)

I was thinking about putting the Modern Witch Tarot on my wish list, but now that I've seen this one... similar theme but much more unique ideas put into it.
I have to admit, I agree! I ended up listing the Modern Witch on my anti-haul when I found out about this one - this one just knocks it out of the park for me!

I usually see the strength card as the lion purrrring rather than being ferocious.... her touch/strength is bringing out the gentle side of the lion.....which I usually see as the method to overcome what is calling for my strength.....like the gentle power of my strength 🌺

Excellent review, Lisa! I just went and ordered the deck. Today is nov 5th and she will be shipping it out nov 20th. So glad I watched this. I had been looking for a deck like this for in-person readings that is rws “clone” but more modern and inclusive. I do love my numinous, but I feel that it has a more gentle, healing vibe to it, where I think this one will fit the bill just perfectly. Thank you for posting this 🙏🏻💞

Supportive Tarot I was also looking at the Modern Witch. I love the vibrant colors, but I’m not sure about the all female energy and I’m wondering if it’s silly to get both. We’ll see, I’m trying to consume less, but... it will probably end up in my mailbox soon anyway lol

Such a cool deck! It's not my style at all but the depictions are so clever, love that Temperance! Can please tell me how thick it is in cm? It's the only way for me to know if I will be able to shuffle it. In the shop says 350 gsm so I expect it to be thicker. Thank you for the great walk through!
I will try to check that out soon but it is easier to shuffle than the new US Games cardstock (Crow Tarot, Spiritsong Tarot etc)
@@Lisa_Papez How about the Fountain tarot as a comparison? I had real trouble shuffling it until I chopped it, my hands are really tiny :D
@@fireoftransformation9826 I would say the stock is very similar to the Fountain Tarot.
I see the nine of pentacles is female in this deck. In the waite smith it is a man...a falconer, but most decks make it a woman, I think mostly because in the original it is a person in a long robe.
The 9P in the RWS deck is described by AE Waite as a woman.
