I watched an hour long conversation/interview between Phyllis & the publisher on the Hay House channel - I highly recommend a listen. Phyllis & Danielle had quite a journey. This deck makes such sense to me. I’ve received quite a few new Indy decks in the last few days and I can’t seem to muster up a ton of interest to pull me away from this deck- it just so resonates. I’m not about changing RWS, but I am all about how this deck is laid out for me.
I got my deluxe copy last night and this deck is definitely very very different and probably the most gorgeous deck i have ever seen! It isn't easy to break through the box of what each card should have represented in tarot (what its message should be) but if you get rid of all the concepts you know about tarot and just take it as it is... you will love reading with it. Anyone - how would u connect the court cards in this deck with the classic court cards? All in all trully earthy, witchy, gorgeous and special deck.❤

You're one of the best tarot deck reviewers I've ever seen on youtube in the sense that you go far beyond the basic reviews about the beautiful appearance or feels of card stock of the deck, and really speak about YOUR unique understanding and interpretations regarding the features of the deck. It's funny that Tarot deck is such a spiritual tool but most reviewers talk *only* about how beautiful their skins look and feel. You just offered what I was hoping to hear. Wonderful walk through this tarot deck Lisa (p.s. love your channel), I preorderd it and am excited for its standard edition to be released in the UK in November. Want to make a review of this deck too but will be hard to make it more fun than yours hehe😁 I really love the idea of this deck, the images are GORGEOUS and the guide book sounds lovely too. The only thing that bothers me personally is that for the Shaman card it would be more appropriate if they portaited the image of an actual shaman (Natives) and not some new agey white dude who did a couple of ayahuasca trips and now considers himself a shaman lol. But that is my personal opinion (:

I loved how you described the journey through this specific major arcana in your own words. Now it makes so much sense to me. And that comes from someone who watched other walkthroughs and couldn't get friends with the idea that they basically go backwards. It was frustrating because all of the other things in this deck I really liked. Now I can make peace with that change and find it actually more realistic than the usual order.

A month into my depth year and deck low to no buy. This deck, book, system is closer to what I have been searching for. So now paitently waiting for HayHouse to send it to me. Thank you for the walk through.
I’m so happy that the spells are actually doable for me...I’m in the broom closet...kinda starting to creep out. But I have a hard time with spell work...collecting the ingredients is what probably holds me back the most, second is the mess that is my home. I never feel it’s clean enough to do a spell. While cleaning one mess another is being created by my fam...usually not bad cuz it’s just me during the week, but now our house is never ever empty. But I have bought books & looked up websites that say simple spells or rituals...but need to consider ingredients & tools is part of that. When u knew the chant from the dancing witch (the spiral dance), made me happier even because must be some legit shit ya know! So I am slowly watching this & going through my deck along with u. I love when I get a deck u have done a walk thru of! Your the only one that explains things about the cards & I can remember! I honestly don’t know what it is...i started reading more intuitively & am slowly learning as the cards come. I truly love this deck...I haven’t even shuffled yet! I’ve had it since Friday! Takes me forever to watch any video cuz my phone is like a magnet from my hip to my son (8). Oh & the biggest baby! Beautiful cards! I only found out about this deck from your November faves ...Ithaca or Ithaki is the name of the island of Odysseus and it is often used as a term to depict a long journey of self-discovery. (By the way, although Odyssey is supposed to be a myth... Ithaki is a real greek island). And, no, I am not a huge nerd... I just happen to be from Greece so I am familiar with both the myth and the place. :) Thank you for sharing, Lisa! That was very helpful! :)
I love this deck so much! I wouldn't call it 'messing with' the major arcana, but I know what you mean of course. It makes so much more sense to me from a witches' perspective. The journey through the major arcana reminds me of my own path, just like you mentioned. Although I'll always like and use RWS, I've often struggled a bit with the christian and patriarchal parts of the RWS. Druidcraft, Wildwood and others did a good job including more pagan elements, but this deck goes all the way. I still see lots of RWS elements/meanings in it. I'd call it a tarot deck with oracle qualities. 🙂 I'm a big fan of Danielle Barlow's art; her Green Wheel Oracle is stunning too. Phyllis has been my teacher for quite some years and I recognize her personal touch in the cards and especially the book. Their combined efforts are so much more than just author and illustrator; they are true co-creators.
Thanks for the walkthrough! I really like this deck and the extensive guidebook accompanying it. I think it will take a bit of time to get used to reading with the cards but I have no life so this deck would be a perfect addition to my collection.
