Hey James! Yes I would. Facebook is always changing their image sizing, so I like to go on the side of too big, rather than too small, and let Facebook slightly downsize for their use.
@@AustinJamesJackson okay. Also for Instagram and Facebook export, why don’t you have ‘Don’t Enlarge’ selected? When you enlarge an image it adds pixel data and stretches edges. This reduces sharpness. Even when that image is shrunk down again, those edges are now softer. If the image is smaller than the size I’ve specified I at least want it at the sharpest or can be
Hi Alvarius! If you send it correctly with no compression, the files will be full quality! I text them to myself using the messages app and don't have an issue. Also, you could email and just make sure you select full size, so the image does not get downsized. Dropbox works as well if that is what you like!
Another great tutorial Austin, concise and right to the details.
Always glad to help!
Nice video . I have been wondering about the settings gonna give it a try .. thx 👍
Glad to help!
Hi Austin, please advise on you present download. Regards ChrisB 🇬🇧 UK
His Chris! I'm not sure exactly what you mean?
Hey Austin, for exporting photos for Facebook, I noticed you export at 2048 pixels for Long Edge. Would you do that for horizontal photos?

Doesn't sending the file over text, email, messenger etc also compress the file?
Dropbox is the best no?

What about 144 dpi please ?
72 is sufficient for online use!
Does it matter if the picture is horizontal or vertical? If so, would I need to change long edge/short edge based on horizontal or vertical?
Hi Erica! Great question. I leave the long edge as the same, regardless of which orientation the photo is!
So I read someone said 1800ppi look sharper on FB and IG….. wonder how true this is.
Interesting! I'll have to look into that!
