@@toneandtighten just tried the workout pretty and its awesome I did the overheadsquats with one hand that way I could go below parallel and had better form then I switched hand each set
I totally agree, it does a similar job to cardio without the crazy jumps exercises! I'm usually in my room working out late at night so always trying to keep jumping minimal due to tenants!!!!!! Thank you so much. Def interested in more dumbbell workouts!
Hey man - thanks for the workout. For any reading: I am asthmatic - and it's allergy season. Exercising can sometimes be incredibly difficult, and I often end up spitting up mucus when pushing myself. And for this exercise I did have to take quite a few breaks, sometimes up to 5 minutes between reps. But I didn't stop until I did four of each. I'm glad I didn't - I think some of the stuff I spat up was clogging my lungs and airways. Still hurts to take full breaths, but less so: I probably need to do more stuff like this to just be healthier in general. If I can do it - a skinny asthmatic (also a wimp likely, compared to the likes of whomever's reading this) - most assuredly you can. God bless, folks.
Derek Baumgartner I’m not joking I’m feeling the same shit your are having asthma sucks so much sometimes I literally feel like I’m dying on that football field but I have to push through to help get over it.
I have struggled with misalignment in my low back for decades, BUT (after alignment) I can do your workouts with no risk of putting myself out of whack! Thank you Jared
Perfect. 1)It is follow along so you don't need to do any prep (no timers/sets reps planning etc..) 2) The voice over helps you correct the exercises while you are doing them 3) It feels like you have a gym buddy (which is what we miss most) 4) Awesome burn. Died at the arnold lift but managed to push through. This workout kicked my ass and i definitely loved it. NNo jumping and no frills workout, more like this please!
Great workout in a short period. Good sweat I feel great. Like tips all along. Nice to hear that even a guy who seems to do it all the time has weakness
I got my first pair of adjustable dumbells yesterday and looked up for at home workouts. Im extremely out of shape and am motivated to give my absolute best to stay fit... Gave this my absolute maximum. Halfway through i thought i wont make it, and was about to give up absolutely at the second set of those last squats. But i made it through. Extremely happy and thanks a ton. You got a loyal subscriber
Although in the midst of a calf muscle tear(going on 5 months now). Recovery is going well with a few minor set backs Your 30min workout is still kicking my butt. I had to modify a bit as to not put too much on the injury. You are always there with great workouts and information. Thank you, thank you..
This is real Interval Training! Most people confuse HIIT with Circuit Training, exercises performed in circuit even for timed sets are not HIIT. The main Idea of Interval training is repeated effort for ech exercise with different work to rest ratios. Great Video!
I loved the standing obliques workout so much that I got to this video. U r great! Fantastic! I will follow along and actually do the workouts. The only suggestion I believe I could give for your squat overhead lift would be to possibly lighten the weight. This may allow u 2 more easily push your butt out to a true sitting position. Please use a chair to lightly touch your bum on. R your knees hurting? They go over your toes each time your bend. Please use a mirror for form or a quick glance at your knees being behind your toes each time u squat. And u say this 4 the next exercise. Truly. I am a new fan.
found you a week ago on you tube and love what ur doing. I just love this workout. Have ordered new weight so I can increase the amount im using. Would love to see more of these kind of workouts totaling 30 to 45 mins. Keep it coming. PS would love to see a warm up and down added in.
Anyone still hitting this in 2021 lol. I been doing it for over 2 years 5 days a week and progressively getting higher and higher weight. I do this workout in the mornings as a pre workout and also do a ab workout after my workout. Thanks again for everything and hope u and your family are safe and all good! Have a great rest of your year and goodluck!
Here because of corona, like many others. Wasn't a big fan of the workout I chose this morning. Found this one and can't wait to try it for my next workout. This looks to be more of what I was looking for. Thanks!!!!
Thanks for putting this together. The renegade row is a bit difficult but hopefully will get easier with time. I am not a fan of exercises as I get terribble headache from most, but this one is far the best, as it does not involve a lot of up and down movements, like sit ups, that always make me dizzy.
Thanks! So, now I am doing this three times a week. Do you recommend any additional exercise in between those days? I am thinking a few push ups or similar. Or would that kill my overall gains from this exercise?
This is a good workout. I primarily do full body with combo moves with a timer so this is right in line with my philosophy. I changed the overhead squat press to air squat pull-ups to protect my back and to get shoulder/lat pulls involved. If you put 60 seconds rest between the exercise groups you get 30 minutes. I put this in my Seconds Pro app and will throw it into my rotation. Thanks! Ps. Check those Arnold presses. I learned them differently. Rotate as you go up and come down. Palms face chest ‘ then outward at top. Cheers!
I discovered this workout (but not the TH-cam video of it) some time ago and love it! Stumbled upon the TH-cam video today and wow! Didn’t think it could get any better but I was wrong! Please, please give us more HIIT workouts! PS His 20 minute arm workout is awesome too! Thanks Tone and Tighten!
I boosted this up further, by adding a 4 sets of bent over rows to hit the biceps and traps and finished with four sets of floor chest presses because aside from the renegade rows, this workout seems to neglect the chest quite a bit. You can really load the weight on the chest presses because the range of motion on the floor is quite limited. Great video and quality, challenging workout as it is though
Its my first trial to follow along with this video, along half way didnt made it to last part of the video and i am very sweaty. Great workout. I 💖 love this video.
Great workout! Ill be 60 in 2 months and the pace is perfect for recovery between sets. Also, thanks for explaining the muscle groups that are being utilized. Workout provides a good sweat!
I really liked this workout and gave it a try 2 days back, I haven't been doing weights so thought I can spare 30 mins and it was great doing the first time. 2 days later I find myself getting out of breath (more than the pain) in 20 seconds into the 3rd exercise and beyond. Any tips on how to keep pushing, since 20 seconds may not help at all? The reason I chose this workout is that I want to focus on strength with HIIT, I am 5'10 160lbs, so not overweight but just some extra in the belly! I don't want to lose weight rather build strength with weights at home.
The pushup part is killing me. But the rest is sooo good. I sweat a lot! Great way to sweat out without going out (given the pandemic we're having right now). You earned a like and subscribe. Keep it up
This is a great workout for the new circumstances, would love to see more of these. It's quite hard to be motivated at home or in a room to workout, so effective, relatively short resistance/hiit/cardio workouts like this are gold. I enjoyed this! Will rotate with other things.
I have done this three days in a row! Great it is . But only annoying things are when the workout starts there should be a ring . Second a continuous commentary in background does not let concentrate! So overall a good workout with same major distraction. Keep up the good work coach
My third day of this workout. Am so glad that i found you because as a beginner with weights i needed something workable. Am using 15pounds and i realized my left arm is weaker but am sure will get stronger with time. Thank you for this video
Awesome! Thank you! I've been looking for an all over workout I can do at the gym a few times a week to help me get back into weight training after a long break off.
Hell yeah! Im feeling it😅 Stayed with 15-25kg dumbells the whole way through not sure about lbs when talking about weights but those last 10 minutes really did me good Thanks man I'm gonna use this resistance method with my cardio very often from now on! 👍
Great workout! I'll definitely be doing it again. I like that you didn't have music so I could choose my own :) One request though: I'd appreciate more cues as to how to prevent injury during these exercises and what sensations might indicate I'm doing things wrong. For example, during the dead lift, I might have been feeling it in my low back too much. Any tips on that? The tips you did give were great. Thanks!
Thank you for the suggestion, Kristin T! For the deadlift, you will want to make sure you are hinging at your hips to start the movement and then bend down naturally. Then you won't be feeling it in your back!
Just subscribed. Good workout. Two suggestions: 1. Add a tone or beep to start and end each set. That helps especially when doing an exercise which prevents me from watching the screen. 2. Tell us what the next exercise is going to be as soon as you finish the prior one. This allows us to get prepared and not waste set time getting ready. Better yet, have a picture-in-a-picture pop up like you have for the clock showing you doing the exercise. Watch Caroline Girvan videos to see what I mean. Good stuff. I'll be back.

a heart palpitating workout for sure and very good. Nearly killed me the 1st time through , I had to stop about halfway through and pick it up again only to stop once more ( I'm 70) Today I smartened up and performed 3 x 30 instead of 4 x 30 and made it through. I also thought of slowing down the whole video (in the settings, could be good for learning the form) and doing the reps a bit slower...thanks for a great workout :)
Good overall workout! You're right about your overhead squat. 20lb dumbbells are too heavy for your ability to recruit and stabilize your core. Peel back the load and your form will improve.
Loved the workout... today was my first day, it was pretty tough but got through it. Had to take a 45 sec break a few times, but I tried to stick to the 30 second breaks... will continue to do it at least 3 days a week
This workout has been awesome for me during lockdown :-) I bought dumbbells back in March 2020 when I started working from home and I aim to do the workout twice each week - I love the timer and the format, but I’ve ordered a barbell to mix things up. Do you think you could do another video with the same format, but how about using a barbell instead??
Thank you so much for explaining in such detail what i am supposed to be doing and why. I finally understand the right movement without guessing if i am doing it right. I love your channel and i am so happy to have found you 😘
Good routine. I'm 6'3, 300 pounds and complete beginner to weight training. I started doing this workout piecemeal about 2 weeks ago then did the whole workout two days ago - pretty sore now!
Thanks man. I saw your message first thing this morning when I got up tired and unmotivated and it helped me get through another workout before work. Appreciate it.
I like this workout and I’ve done it several times. I only have 1 solid metal hexagonal 15 lb dumbbell and 1 20 lb dumbbell of the same style and I’m not sure how to hold both in front of me safely to do a goblet squat. I’ll get heavier weights when I can but I’m focused on toning for now. It would be helpful if you could count down the 30 second periods near the end because I can’t look at my screen during some of the exercises. Thanks again
I just finished doing this at the gym. Im a beginner so this is exactly what i was looking for except im not sure if my form was good but i completed the session lol. I couldnt do the renegade rows properly so i did them on my knees and took the push ups out till im stronger. Starting with only 5kgs dumbell. Thanks for this. Will try do this twice a week with my routine.
@@toneandtighten Thanks for the reply. Already subscribed. Looking forward to results and will check out your other vids! P.s i cant get keep my arms up with the dumbells when doing the overhead squats. I ended up leaving my arms on the sides and did the squat. Any alternatives? Thanks 😊

Any tips on how to keep pushing, since 20 seconds may not help at all? The reason I chose this workout is that I want to focus on strength with HIIT, I am 5'10 160lbs, so not overweight but just some extra in the belly! I don't want to lose weight rather build strength with weights at home.
Getting to 27-30 seconds consistently now on 20lbs after 2 weeks of alternate days. Pushing hard.
Great HIIT work out in 30 minutes
I am so glad you enjoyed this one!
Great! I am so glad you enjoyed this!
This is a big help!!! THANK YOU!!! IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS I WILL BE BIG CHUNGUS
Andy- Awesome! I am happy to hear that you liked it! Keep up the hard work!
First time doing the workout tonight. Loved it!!!!
Wonderful! I am so glad you enjoyed this workout!
Awesome workout. Great to wake up to. Thank you very (!) MUCH
So glad you enjoyed it, Zibi!
I have done this three days in a row! Great it is . But only annoying things are when the workout starts there should be a ring . Second a continuous commentary in background does not let concentrate! So overall a good workout with same major distraction. Keep up the good work coach
Thanks for the feedback. I will keep that in mind next time!
This sort of workout, 30~40 mins with whole body weights, works really well for me. I wish you’d do more, similar,
I am glad you enjoyed this one! I will see what I can do!
I absolutely love your videos!! You’re the best! Thank you for your expertise!!
You are so kind, Christina! Thank you so much!
My third day of this workout. Am so glad that i found you because as a beginner with weights i needed something workable. Am using 15pounds and i realized my left arm is weaker but am sure will get stronger with time. Thank you for this video
You are welcome, Jeje! Good for you for sticking to this and doing it consistently! It is a great total body workout!
Killer workout!! Thank God for the pause button though.
Good work, byron clyatt! Keep working hard!
Awesome! Thank you! I've been looking for an all over workout I can do at the gym a few times a week to help me get back into weight training after a long break off.
You are so welcome, April! I hope you enjoy it!
Did this in the morning and still feeling it. My first time on this channel and looking forward to more workouts 🏋️♀️. Thanks 😊 🙏
Great job, Ourdeen Islam! I am glad you like this workout and I hope you continue to find what you are looking for on my channel!
This is great. I am loving it.
Awesome! Glad you are enjoying it!
Hell yeah!
Im feeling it😅
Stayed with 15-25kg dumbells the whole way through not sure about lbs when talking about weights but those last 10 minutes really did me good
Thanks man I'm gonna use this resistance method with my cardio very often from now on! 👍
You are welcome! I am so glad you enjoyed this workout and keep up the hard work!
Doing this when i can’t go gym. Love
Great idea, 10k! I am glad you like it!
Thanks for the great workout.
This is definitely my "go to workout ". Ive been hitting it consistently for about 3 weeks. Always kicks my butt.
You are welcome, Alex! I am so glad you are enjoying it!
Two suggestions:
Thanks so much for your feedback and support!
Very nice home workout! Thanks!
You're so welcome! I am glad you enjoyed it and thanks for sharing!
thanks! It was really great to be able do this after work today to de-stress.
You're so welcome! I am glad you liked the workout!
I love this workout. adding it to my daly routine Thank you ! Where can I find that link to buy the weights?
So glad you enjoyed it! Here is the link: www.amazon.com/52-5-Adjustable-Cast-Iron-Dumbbell/dp/B009GC76QO/ref=as_li_ss_tl?s=exercise-and-fitness&ie=UTF8&qid=1543465952&sr=1-1-spons&keywords=dumbbells&psc=1&linkCode=sl1&tag=toneandtigh-20&linkId=57f150eb29cfb5c483a2fa6222dcc94b&language=en_US
Thanks. A great workout during lockdown in my gym/garage.
You're welcome! I am glad you enjoyed it!
a heart palpitating workout for sure and very good.
Great accommodations, Eduard, and good for you for tackling this workout!
@@toneandtighten thanks ! Jared
Best video on dumbbells.
Thanks so much! I am glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for this i really like that you add breaks
You are welcome, Seabass! I am glad you enjoyed this workout!
Good overall workout! You're right about your overhead squat. 20lb dumbbells are too heavy for your ability to recruit and stabilize your core. Peel back the load and your form will improve.
Thanks, man! I appreciate your insight!
Awesome workout Jared, best hiit I’ve seen 👍🏻
Awesome! Thank you!
@@toneandtighten btw I’m 73 lol
Loved the workout... today was my first day, it was pretty tough but got through it. Had to take a 45 sec break a few times, but I tried to stick to the 30 second breaks... will continue to do it at least 3 days a week
Good for you, Kenn Derrell! Extra breaks are fine as you are just starting out! Good luck!
Loved it, modified to 40 active seconds and 20 rest intervals.
Good for you, Sunil!
Thanks for the suggestion! I am glad you are enjoying this workout!
Great workout. many thanks.Excellent advice.
You are welcome, Graham Brown! I am glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you so much for explaining in such detail what i am supposed to be doing and why. I finally understand the right movement without guessing if i am doing it right. I love your channel and i am so happy to have found you 😘
You are so welcome! I am glad you found this helpful and that you enjoyed the workout!
Love this. Not for the faint of heart though, it's a brutal workout
It is a tough one!
Great exercise. Added it to my weekly routine. Thank you!
You're so welcome, Yida Mao! I am glad you enjoyed this one and thanks for commenting!
For me this workout is toned and tight in design! A thumbs up 👍🏽
I’m subscribed! Thanks :)
You are welcome, a d! I am so glad you liked it and thank you for your support!
Super helpful video. More hiit videos please.
Thanks so much, Miguel Garcia! I hope to bring more workouts like these your way!
Good routine. I'm 6'3, 300 pounds and complete beginner to weight training. I started doing this workout piecemeal about 2 weeks ago then did the whole workout two days ago - pretty sore now!
Nice work! Keep up the hard work and be consistent!
Thank you for the suggestion, Thomas!
You are welcome, msrobyn82! I am so glad you liked this workout. Your modifications sound perfect! Keep it up!

Thanks for the reply. Already subscribed. Looking forward to results and will check out your other vids!
P.s i cant get keep my arms up with the dumbells when doing the overhead squats. I ended up leaving my arms on the sides and did the squat. Any alternatives? Thanks 😊
Try to do the overhead squat without dumbbells first or very light and work your way up to heavier.
