Yeah, it would sound pretty cool honestly... though I would prefer if it were only certain motifs and the general style of each soundtrack that carried over. Hearing RaC1 redone in jungle/techno with elements of DnB and industrial, Going Commando with that classic synth-orchestral mix, UYA with its emphasis on electric guitar and funky Hollywood-esque synths, and Deadlocked with that distinct metal guitar sound on top of the distorted synths, some 808s, and maybe more out-there themes for the tracks... a pipe dream, but it'd be amazing to bear witness to.
@@johnnygyro2295 stubbornness, maybe they don't want to admit the superiority of the original? It's hard to come up with a good reason for them NOT to do it

Impressive sir. We are blessed to have you. It has a nice swirl/left-right effect to it. Before it got mostly lost in the audio. It took me about 50 listens to the mono track to realize it's there. It's the same click/pop sound found in the Ratchet on Orxon track
Heh thank you. I did try to use the source samples as much as possible, but finding them was an insane task in of itself lol. Glad it paid out in the end!
1:34 I like how that lil ostinato in the background pops up frequently throughout the soundtrack of Ratchet & Clank. Its almost like a leitmotif for Ratchet, if not a distant, constant reminder of just how far from home he is. Such a great touch by David Bergeaud.
@@nicknuwe If they have no interested, then it falls into the hands of dedicated fans. I mean, just look at what the ZRET (Zelda Reverse-Engineering Team) has done, their project to map out OoT in C++ ultimately gave birth to a beautiful PC port. I'm not entirely sure a trilogy remake is completely off the table though. You honestly really never know with this kind of stuff. Mayne they can get Bluepoint or someone else besides Insomniac to handle remaking these titles. It's totally possible even if very unlikely
Insaaane work dude! the effort you’re putting into these really pays off, started replaying the original trilogy after your last vid so these are hitting hard right now
Freakin amazing man. The nostalgia rushed in so hard. I hold Ratchet and clank very near and dear to my heart so hearing an actually well made stereo version made my day. Keep it up🤙🏼
absolutely amazing work, i'm just kinda baffled that all the synths are so spot on Edit: just found out David Bergeaud used synths from some demo disks through all three games, still a cool remake nonetheless though, definitely saving for later
Awesome work remaking these man! Maybe you could do the aridia theme next? There was already a portion of the song in stereo from the beta tracks so it might be easier to go by.
Just found your channel. Amazing work! Hope you get to remastering ratchet orxon and gremlik base as those are my favourite. I'd recommend working on the tracks we don't have in stereo from the beta version of the game, all other tracks we only have in mono
I love this! But i would freak out if you suddenly did the veldin theme from up your arsenal since it's my favorite song in the whole series! Sounds great! Veldin has always been my favorite in every game! The atmosphere, enemies and music, but i do prefer veldin from uya the most :) I just find the level to be better designed and more fun and the music more catchy! :D
Haha thanks! I'll try, but I can't guarantee I can make it since a lot of the tracks are sample based and I can't always source all of the samples, which is bad if they're important (I had to drop Gemlik Base for this reason unfortunately). But I am planning on making some original R&C style tracks with the experience I'm gaining through these remakes.
@@nicknuwe You probably know this already, but if you need help finding drumloops or specific electronic/synth-y samples, David seemed to use a lot of "X-Static" sample discs for this OST.
I never noticed those strings in the beginning until you pointed them out with a comically large pointer finger and I'll never listen to this song the same ever again.
Yep lol, I didn't notice them either until I started working on this remake. The funny thing is that I matched the volume of the original since I worked on this entirely in mono, but after bringing it back to stereo it got instantly a lot easier to notice. Spatial cues help a lot with quiet sounds

You mean the rhythmic beeps? As similar as they may seem, they're two different samples (from the same sample pack, but still). I like the fact that they actually do make the soundtrack feel more connected though
The organ is surprisingly a sample from the same library as the drums and not a synth, the keys are a regular Rhodes piano for which I used a VST called MrRay73, and the various synth sounds are just me reverse engineering the sounds from the original (which are mostly just saws with one or two bandpasses)
@@nicknuwe thank you for the detailed answer, I do some music production myself and this project of yours never ceases to amaze me. You should upload a video showing it playing in your DAW and how the song is constructed.
It was indeed optimization related. Supposedly once they added the EU FMVs for the final build in simple PSS format, one video stream per language, they ran into space issues (English only would have been fine). They solved this in later games by using a single video stream for each FMV with multiple audio streams inside, yet they still ran into problems with UYA, where they had to drop all dialogue sample rate from 44KHz to 22KHz (music was untouched). It's also worth noting the stereo tracks were an attempt made in late development, early alphas were still doing mono, same as the final version (except without dedicated loops). Perhaps they oversold their budget, but I'm glad they did, since those stereo tracks are now public (plus a few from UYA's beta). Did you know that in that late R&C1 build build, the placeholder track for Kyzil Plateau (level 0) was the Blackwater City sewer escape music? Probably because, in absence of the final track, they intended to sell some sort of tense vibe for the invasion of Drek's robots in charge of attaining Clank. Similarly, unincluded levels also had placeholder tracks that suited the planet, like Kalebo III using Metropolis' theme.
Just thinking about how cool it would be if they remastered all the classic R&C games and this is how the sound track would sound! AMAZING!
Uhm, they already did?
