- This video shows every step of the processes involved in making laminated guitar sides for a Maccaferri guitar. The laminations are standard 0.5mm-0.6mm veneers and the adhesive used is is a urea formaldehdye resin. MDF moulds are used and the adhesive cure is accelerated through the addition of a heater blanket on top of the lay up resulting is a press time of only 30 minutes. The vacuum press used has a polyurethane box membrane and the the dry running rotary vane pump develops a pressure of 8500kg/m2.

Thanks for the video. I must say, that was truly enlightening and the results are certainly impressive. I would love to try this same technique one of these days.
Very informative video thankyou
Great video. Really helpful and informative, thanks. You mentioned that you can supply poplar veneer. How and where is it available. Thanks.
Hi Stuart,
I will check what veneer I have in stock and let you know. If you could email me on the Bagpress sales@ address I will respond. Thanks, Darren
Any idea where I can obtain the resin and powder in the US? Or any alternatives?
Hi Ramon, You could try email the manufacture's US office (springfield@prefere.com) and ask for a list of local distributors. The products I use are 4152 resin, 5602 hardener and 5912 extender (pore blocker). Failing that, I will check what restrictions may apply to shipping to you from the UK. I've never done it so I'm not sure if this is possible.
@@Bagpress thank you very much. They don’t ship to the US. I’ve contacted them and sadly this was the case
