Bagpress is a manufacturer of vacuum presses, vacuum press moulds and vacuum pressed panels and components. These videos show the basic processes involved in glueing, pressing and trimming a vacuum pressed panel. More video will be added shortly showing our mould making machine and the procedure for making moulds by hand.

Laminating Maccaferri Guitar Sides Using Heated Vacuum Press Moulds

This video shows every step of the processes involved in making laminated guitar sides for a Maccaferri guitar. The laminations are standard 0.5mm-0.6mm veneers and the adhesive used is is a urea formaldehdye resin. We use a CNC Hot Wire Cutter to cut high density extruded polystyrene for all the moulds we use for in-house production and for those we supply to our vacuum pressing client base. If you need moulds then please ask us to quote for their manufacture as you may be surprised at how economical they are.

Thanks for the video. I must say, that was truly enlightening and the results are certainly impressive. I would love to try this same technique one of these days.
Any idea where I can obtain the resin and powder in the US? Or any alternatives?
Hi Ramon, You could try email the manufacture's US office (springfield@prefere.com) and ask for a list of local distributors. The products I use are 4152 resin, 5602 hardener and 5912 extender (pore blocker). Failing that, I will check what restrictions may apply to shipping to you from the UK. I've never done it so I'm not sure if this is possible.
