Was that genuine shock, you learning that a record has two sides? Fantastic. Looking forward to your review on an original Sony Walkman, try finding tracks on that!!!
The Audio Technica LP-60 is best basic budget record player that wont wear-down your records over time. Pear it with a decent vintage looking speakers... A decent set up.
Tons of better players but not better all in one players. I'm buying one of these for a child and a child's room. Can't get into components and speakers.
I bought a very similar one (different placement of controls, etc - but surely done by the same Chinese ;) for my 10yo son, who is now happy as hell, bringing this player with him to his friends. The nice thing is has battery, so you can play a lot without a power supply. However, I suspect that quality is really low - but giving him a proper turntable wouldn't give half of this fun ;)
@@JeremyHolmes In that case these are fine; they're essentially toys anyway. Just don't let the child play your good records on it. Buy a few spare needles for it; the ones supplied with them usually wear out pretty quick.
I'm looking for a vinyl record player to gift to my grandmother. She's got a ton of really old vinyls from her youth but no way to play them anymore. She's definitely not a tech-savvy person, and I don't know a thing about playing vinyl so I'm looking for something simple with not too many bells and whistles. Do you consider this an easy-to-use device for beginners?
I bought 1 and sent it back... The item is a nice object...but really the sound is horrible. Even if you plug it in external loudspeaker. The mic on the reading cell is awful, the angine is too loud, the axis is not straight (as you can see also for your case, the record do waves) and you can even ear it, there are too much parasite sounds and white noise, not enough bass and too much trebble... But really! I am not a specialist and it was painfull to eat that. For less than twice this price I finally bought a nice turntable with a nice sound and I don't regret it. A Turntable in a suitcase for 60€ is simply a BAD IDEA....
K-Tel record, dude. They suck. They cram 20 songs (usually shortened versions) onto a single cheaply-made LP and as a result they sound awful. And disco music was pretty 'suck' to begin with.

Usually the controls are on top and the leads plug in the Back , I got a Ricahtec Suitcase player for a Bargain £37 on Amazon
