  • This car belongs to a friend. It had a very loud exhaust and was not tuned very well.
    Watch the video and see how bad the tune actually is.

    Wow John, good job on this one! What is your preferred ECU for the AP1-AP2 non DBW cars? I'm between getting a 2003 and 2005 S2000 now. Loved my DBW car but the exhaust valve issues scare me a bit.

    • @LHTPerformance
      @LHTPerformance  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There's no issue with 06 + cars. The stock valves in all S2000s are not real clever. The 06+ tend to have the valves set a little too tight and thus causes valves to burn. Worse case, get an 06+ and change all the valves to Ferrea and you're good to go.

    Was that 3" exhaust piping replaced with another 3" system? It's alot quieter, my high comp b20vtec sounds similar (although abit less tinny and rattley) and too loud for my liking. The new system you put on is well quieter, I hope its 3" which gives me some hope for a quieter replacement while still having the flow of a 3".

    Hey John, nice work on the Integra. Can you tell me two things? First, with the CP Pistons, what kind of life would you get out of this motor if you weren't beating on it and did regular maintenance? You guys don't work on too many forged builds, which I like also, but I'm just curious about how long a built shortblock will live. Second, you use factory Honda bearings on rebuilds which I love. My question is, you just use the factory crankshaft bearings, correct?Last but not least, an idea for your next project/flip: Find a nice Lotus Elise and K-swap/turbo charge it. Great platform, nice platform for some titanium piping/exhaust and that LHT TLC:-)

    What's your reasening by keeping your a/f near 12 to 1? Extra safety? In my own expierence tuning na's when i go below 12.5 most cars lost power. Only a very few natural aspirated cars i tuned liked richer than 12.5 to 1.

    • @LHTPerformance
      @LHTPerformance  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      D Scheeres AF will react differently on every motor. I typically run on the richer side if the motor doesn’t loose power. Keep in mind tuning on one sensor is an average of 4 cylinders. Let’s say your reading 12 to 1. 2 cylinders could be running 13.5 to 1 and the others could be in the 10s. It’s a fairly crude way but works on less extreme builds. If the motor makes the same power at 11.8 as it does at 13, go on the safer side. It will help make up for extreme hot IATs, low Octane levels etc etc.

    As beautiful as that car is, it seems like the owner sacrificed quality in certain areas for the sake of looking good.
    ×That chipped ECU (blind tuning as it's often called) is a _horrible_ choice.
    ×Timing was way off
    ×VTEC set too high (he probably wanted a louder sounding crossover)

      AnDrEw122100 Yes. Old school way was set the Vtec change at 2000 and then a run at 7000rpms and see where the lines cross. I would still like to set it a little higher, maybe 200-300rpms. I don’t want to loose power but customers do like the extra Vtec sensation.
