It’s is nice to see Mirusia sing this to her father in the audience but in the libretto from the opera it is sung by Lauretta after tensions between her father Schicchi and the family of Rinuccio, the boy she loves, have reached a breaking point that threatens to separate her from Rinuccio. Lauretta implores her father to agree to the marriage otherwise she will I’ll go to Ponte Vecchio, and jump off it!
Finally, I bought MIrusia's album "Beautiful that way" and it has on it many wonderful songs including one of the most stunning performances (which you can also see on Utube) of Chopin's "In mir klingt ein Lied". I challenge anyone not to shed a tear or two!

She has always loved the song but because her friend Carmen sang it while they were with Andre, she did not touch it showing respect for her friend. They are still in touch theses two girls and Carmen has been to Australia twice I think to sing with Mirusia here in Christmas sings.
