Wait, I'm confused... was it the belt the source of the curse or did it run in their blood? If it run in their blood, what was the point of the belt? And if the belt was what caused it, why did it only affect males? Also, he said he had thought of throwing it away but then someone else might get it and become a "dogman", but what was preventing him from throwing it in the middle of the ocean or simply keeping it in a safe?
Maybe I can explain more in future parts, it does seem to be a bit of both - in their blood and related to the belt
OOF! Rough family secret. Does make me wonder if all the men transform every full moon, or just the barer of the belt. It sounded like just the belt wearer by the writings in the journel, as though it was some twisted guardianship to protect the world from.
This tale does have potential to be a saga. Wether to finding a way to destroy the belt along with the curse. Or even to learning to control the curse to use it against other supernatural threats. Heck why not both!

@@jeanlarge4050 Not neccesarily if the curse only passes after the parent passes away. Which could explain the hunters reaction to them finding out the main character was the son of the bound werewolf. The rules of werewolves in their world may differ from our folk lore myths.
But I'm still leaning to the belt theory still.
