After seeing this part in the actual anime, I think both are really well made, specially that jotaro scream and the part where you can see dio's face in the knives, so good. Very good job on the animation and voice acting!

I can’t express just how much I love how jotaro sees dio in the knives. It’s like he feels the same fear as when he fought dio. There’s so much I love about it that I can’t express.

Even against Dio, he kept his cool. This time is different. He knows he was too late, and to him that means the universe that he's fought to protect will be gone. The world he strove to make safer for Jolyne and his loved ones.. gone. The sacrifices his entire Bloodline and Crusader Friends made.. gone. He knows he messed up. He knows its over. He knows he lost. He knows saving Jolyne means the end.. But he still does it. Beautiful.
Yeah, people in the comments be blaming Jolyne for "ending the universe" but I'm awed that we got to see Jotaro have a visible breakdown, showing that he's not always the cool, collected guy he seems to always be on the surface. He didn't react like this even when he saw Dio throw the knife at Joseph's neck. He truly loves his daughter. I got a whole new appreciation for him because of part 6.

The reveal to all those knives. It was amazing and gave me goosebumps. The reveal of DIO through the knives just was amazing. At first, I thought it was part 1 Dio. But then I realized that it was DIO in Part 6, since that's the DIO that Pucci remembers. God, I can't stop loving this
It would make sense considering that pucci always looked up to him and he became one above him as he was fighting jotaro and using his stand. I love that!

@@Terra_Volted Those knives are definitely 3d. The fact that the line thickness remains constant while zooming is what makes it look 2d. But if every knife from every angle and every zoom was drawn individually (which is what youd need to make this work) it wouldn't be animated the way it is.

To those who are confused, Basically what happened was Jotaro was 2 steps away from Defeating Pucci 1. He basically fcked up the Timing on Stopping time, thus 'Killing' Annasui 2. He still Couldve won even if he fcked up the Timestop if only he chose to Attack Pucci instead of Saving his Daughter, but his Fatherly instincts Kicked in and Chose to save Jolyne instead So Basically its Either Sacrifice Jolyne and Everyone fighting alongside him to Save the whole World or Save Jolyne Making Pucci Reset the Universe Killing them all in the process
To be fair though, the timing isn't his fault, since Anasui specifically told him to wait until he got punched so that 'Pucci' would be immobilized. And Anasui did alert Jotaro and he immediately stopped time. It's just that neither of them knew Pucci would use Stone Free's arm to trick them
Pucci won the moment he got MiH and accelerated fast enough, he knew that Jotaro would choose his daughter over killing him. If it wasnt for Diver Down the fight would ended a long time ago because even Jotaro couldnt react to Pucci speed blitzing everyone
His first mistake wasn’t mistiming his time-stop, it was part of the plan to wait until one of them got attacked. Instead, the mistake he made was that he hesitated for a brief moment when he realized that Pucci did not attack Annasui directly but used Stone Free’s hand to donut him.
His tarot card the star makes a lot of sense in both terms. taking center stage at first by being the MC of part 3 but also a literal star with how much stronger and more powerful he was at first but got slightly weaker with each part... and of course, stars eventually burn out.
Actually, the star in tarot resembles an objective, a goal, and the hope to pursuit it. It kind of matches Jotaro as him is always after a goal, and that's surprising, because unlike other tarot-based symbologies like in the Persona sagas, most tarot names in JoJo are there just because Araki thought they sounded cool, lol. The part of the star getting weaker makes no sense. In part 3 he started as a troublemaker boy, disrespectful of his mother and his grandfather. At the end he matured a lot and for part 4 he is already a marine biologist, part of a rich company, and a father, not to mention he is still trying to help his country against stand menaces. For part 6, that mission got global and, at some extent, universal. He was also helping his daughter. Not to mention he was totally able to beat the hell out of every single villain he has faced both by force and by outSTANDing strategies (no pun intended), including Pucci. I don't think Jotaro shinned less at any point to say he got "weaker". At the end, a star releases an insane amount of enegy with a huge explosion at the end of its life. They don't burn out. They leave shining more than ever.
DIO wanted to take over The World, thats why his stand is The World. But Jotaro- Star Platinum is something out of The World. Thats the reason DIO couldnt win. And now we have Star Platinum and Made In Heaven. Yes star is powerful, but Heaven is bigger than the Universe...

Even though I know what happens and even though I know the events are set in stone until Emporio fixes everything, watching this scene always fills me with sadness and dread that if Jotaro was just a bit faster or made better decisions he would've survived.
The anime was obviously more polished because a whole studio produced it, but this one just hits so much harder for me. The creative touch with the knives and the buildup with music, Jotaro’s scream upon realizing. It was directed so much better here.

Actually, the star in tarot resembles an objective, a goal, and the hope to pursuit it. It kind of matches Jotaro as him is always after a goal, and that's surprising, because unlike other tarot-based symbologies like in the Persona sagas, most tarot names in JoJo are there just because Araki thought they sounded cool, lol. The part of the star getting weaker makes no sense. In part 3 he started as a troublemaker boy, disrespectful of his mother and his grandfather. At the end he matured a lot and for part 4 he is already a marine biologist, part of a rich company, and a father, not to mention he is still trying to help his country against stand menaces. For part 6, that mission got global and, at some extent, universal. He was also helping his daughter. Not to mention he was totally able to beat the hell out of every single villain he has faced both by force and by outSTANDing strategies (no pun intended), including Pucci. I don't think Jotaro shinned less at any point to say he got "weaker". At the end, a star releases an insane amount of enegy with a huge explosion at the end of its life. They don't burn out. They leave shining more than ever.

Thank you for making this, this animation is wonderful. I remember watching this over and over again before the anime was confirmed, and now tomorrow is the big day.
I love this scene because it shows how much Jotaro loves Jolyne. He had to choose between killing Pucci and saving the universe or saving his daughter.

The anime was obviously more polished because a whole studio produced it, but this one just hits so much harder for me.
The creative touch with the knives and the buildup with music, Jotaro’s scream upon realizing. It was directed so much better here.
