Uhhhh, ya... it's why I stopped watching BATB (only came to this because I heard Andy did a bunch of ridiculous tricks). Seriously... the "rules" make this game incredibly monotonous and boring after you've watched a few seasons. There's about 10 flip tricks they all do (if that), and then do those tricks switch.

The best thing about this video is that for every weird fucked up almost illegal trick he does, he follows up with clean sharp "normal" tricks, as to say "yeah, keep treating me as the court jester so I can make your jaw drop when you realize I'm actually fucked up great at skating", Loved how Torey just went with it, too.

I think it was to help generate views. Letting the suspense of wether or not it would be accepted build up in the fans minds. That being said, the videos of their death blows are shot the same day as the match.
Pretty sure the refs don’t study the death blow footage before the game 😂.

For him to take out Nick Holt would be a unreal feat as he is incredibly technical and very consistent. Trory had an off day but that what makes skate so exciting not in a million years did I think any would win but here we are. @@oghash4912 I've seen a couple on Instagram. It's definitely a niche trick but easy to pull off. You just need to wrap the board around your front foot and twist it like a merlin twist until it makes 360° turn and then it's a matter of committing yourself to land it. Do it until you got it down. It was part of our bag of tricks 30 years ago. 🙂 if we could 30 years ago at age 17 I'm sure you kids can pull it off. Andy (many of my generation) are the living proof.

Difference is Mike v is a respected stater from the 90s that invented tricks. And still can manage a respected game even with his funny perks where is andy was full try Harding just for the win. There’s a big difference. Mike V said he’d only compete if he could do his tricks, and went up against a pro who was capable of doing some of them. Who also approved of said tricks going in. The biggest difference is, Mike V never won. So it was never a big deal. I always felt both Mike V’s battles were a bit “scripted”. Kind of like Maltos unsanctioned battle.
I think Andy was just punking the judges on that first trick...and then rode a siiick game of skate.

Ollies, kickflips, impossibles, nollie back 3s and so many other tricks are freestyle tricks that are allowed. Aside from the bean plant every trick was legal including the wet stop.
