The good thing about having these games be so unserious is that we get to see some tricks you otherwise never see tried in a serious game. Like yea, idk what is even going on anymore with the bracket, but a backside 360 pressure toe flip?? Give me more of that.
Next year they should a ‘no rules, anything goes’ game - it would revitalise this dead competition

This was like watching a sesh at the park. Dude's doing a wallride kickflip midgame, while Koston and Carlos are commentating Cole v Malto with equal silliness coming from the four of them. We need more lax games of skate like this.
Chris is a monster on the board. Being thrown up against Sean and to just throw down like that was wild. Chris will always be one of my all time favorite skaters!

That’s how I feel. It’s cool to watch them have fun with the homies but it’s def missing the structured competitiveness without so many shenanigans

Have you watched BATB before?? The first 2 rounds have always been less competitive. This is better then having some young pro getting skunked by seva or something like that.
yeah since day one! I think i prefer more competitive style of BATB, then so much 'joking' around. I know skateboarding is about fun and all, but would be cool to have it a bit more professional, instead of a guy nobody knows trying to do a wallride kickflip 20 times in between a GAME OF SKATE.... This game and the Luan-Legion game yesterday were amazing. You could feel the spirit of pure fun from the first ever season of BATB all through this weekend. Perfect.

It's nice seeing someone do toe flips for a change. I do them all the time when I play skate because it's the only flip trick I can land

People have to realize that Chris Cole was basically the best skater in the world for many years, along with Koston, Appleyard, Saari, and a few others a decade ago, yet he is the only one that really has maintained his full flatground game. My abilities fell off a cliff as I got older 😅 it shows how natural skateboarding is to him.
And despite being one of the best to ever do it, wasn't well liked. Remember he changed his clothing style, what a monster.

@lilsleepy3332 agreed. I'm bummed I stopped skating, but personal issues took hold, and messed up much more than skating for me. Right when i was getting really good, sponsors, etc...Still, I view everything through the lens of a skateboarder, and watch skate videos daily. Certain parts of it don't fade, especially because it was my life for so long.
@@followsuittradingI don’t know your circumstances but I hope you can start skating again someday. A few of my friends were sponsored but never got above that local hero level. It’s tricky because these guys sacrificed their education and other opportunities in their 20s for no money and ended up being the guy who used be sponsored back in the day. I notice these people resent skateboarding now.
@billsurlatete I appreciate it man. I still finished college and had successes, I just let drugs take hold and eventually got federal charges for distribution. I spent about 4 years locked up and some time in treatment. I've been sober for several years now, and will actually have my addiction counseling license this year. I recently got a board and started back up. It's a trip when your mind knows exactly how to do certain tricks, but your legs feel completely disconnected. Took me all day just to back tail a ledge. Slowly but surely I'll get it back. I could never resent skateboarding 🤘
