Thanks mate. Was in there again over the weekend and the area is heavily populated by goats. Saw two deer but with cross winds coming from 10 o'clock at 12-15 mph. I opted not to take a shot at 1060 yards at the deer. Should have taken the opportunity to cull some goats at 850 yards. Pity ammo is so expensive with the 300 win mag as I could have done some validation of wind holds at range.
If I remain on the ridge yes but ranges vary between 800-1250 yards so am keen to locate a trail through the dense undergrowth to get closer. The vantage point I recorded from is not suitable as a shooting platform as its steep. Likely another day or two is required to scope it out and hopefully we are then under 6-700 yards.
