We rescued her to Elephant Nature Park 3 years ago. She was so skinny and exhausted when she arrived. It took 4 months before she could walk out with confidence and roam free, surrounded by the herd. She is slow moving but she still enjoys the company of her friends and walks by the river.

So wonderful to see Yai Bua's rescue by Lek and her husband! She was too weak to stand, but knew she was being rescued. A heart-wrenching story of the abuse and cruelty she and her boys suffered, which is unforgiveable, and the people who did that should be punished, but a happy ending to see her with her friends, free, well-fed and cared for by loving people. I'm sorry for the way she and her calves were treated in the past. It makes me embarrassed to be a human sometimes. I'm so glad that she is safe and cared for now and has the company of other ellies 🐘🐘🐘 💕 Thank you all for what you're doing!
@Ann M- we humans are the only species that can be cruel to other species. Asian elephants are kind and loving and because of this, they are exploited by humans. African elephants are not as docile as Asian elephants and that's why African elephants don't work for humans. Sometimes I wish Asian elephants were aggressive like the African elephants so humans could not use them for work.
Remember it was humans (and people like them) who brought her to safety and love ☮ 💜

That bittersweet story brought tears in my eyes and in my heart. These precious gentle giants aren't out to hurt anyone, ,Yet there are actually "humans" who seem to think nothing is wrong with abusing these precious amazing friends we are blessed to know on earth. I don't know how they got that way, I pray they will realize that their greedy,selfish ways are detestable., & hopefully change their ways.
