I posted this as a reply to a comment but there seems to be people who don't understand why the 3 year gap between a 13yr old and a 16yr old is pretty bad, yet as an adult it's fine. I guess I also added "extra content" on this one so yeah... Enjoy? When you're a 13yr old the world looks very different in comparison to being a 16yr old. That age gap, while not very long, it is pretty intense. The 13yr is still learning so much from the world, at such an age one is pretty naive and easily manipulated. A 16yr old has a better understanding of the world than the 13yr old and probably understands that at the age of 13 one is pretty desperate for a relationship and will take whatever one can find. Most of us probably had our first crush at around 11-14, an actual one not just "Oh that person is pretty! I love them!", I mean one where there were actual emotions were caught up. If you look back you probably realize how dumb or stupid that crush or relationship was, probably because at 13yrs old, one is pretty desperate for love and same goes for 16yr olds. The problem arises when the 16yr old KNOWS younger kids are easier to get into a relationship and manipulates them into one. the reason this gap or even bigger gaps as adults are null is because adults have real world experience, middle and high school kids mostly understand life inside their schools. When you're an adult life is different, no longer are you bound to the people in you class or grade, people start the university and have a set goal for a career, some people have already started their careers, people meet new people and abandon old ones, people start a life. The perspective of the world becomes very different. Becoming 18=being an adult isn't just some made up shit, when you leave highschool is when you realize that whatever happened in highschool never mattered. If you're underage, or around the age of 18, and you're reading this I suggest you try building up your friendships and your personal self rather than your intimate relationships. How you look at yourself will probably be the most important thing. Love yourself before you love anyone else.

Especially your high school years, your friends are the ones who will support you and help you in some way. Friendships are meaningful and teaches you in some way. Imo, relationships before 16 is like puppy love or w/e that’s called. You think your significant other is the real deal but they generally don’t last long because of petty reasons. Sure, you’ll learn from it but just save yourself from that embarrassment as years pass by and you occasionally think about it. Plus, after four years people scatter. By senior year, people will ignore one another and focus on college applications and practically prepare on becoming more independent and time management. Being busy as you grow older is real lol.

When you're a 13yr old the world looks very different in comparison to being a 16yr old. That age gap, while not very long, it is pretty intense. The 13yr is still learning so much from the world, at such an age one is pretty naive and easily manipulated. A 16yr old has a better understanding of the world than the 13yr old and probably understands that at the age of 13 one is pretty desperate for a relationship and will take whatever one can find.
Most of us probably had our first crush at around 11-14, an actual one not just "Oh that person is pretty! I love them!", I mean one where there were actual emotions were caught up. If you look back you probably realize how dumb or stupid that crush or relationship was, probably because at 13yrs old, one is pretty desperate for love and same goes for 16yr olds. The problem arises when the 16yr old KNOWS younger kids are easier to get into a relationship and manipulates them into one.
the reason this gap or even bigger gaps as adults are null is because adults have real world experience, middle and high school kids mostly understand life inside their schools. When you're an adult life is different, no longer are you bound to the people in you class or grade, people start the university and have a set goal for a career, some people have already started their careers, people meet new people and abandon old ones, people start a life. The perspective of the world becomes very different. Becoming 18=being an adult isn't just some made up shit, when you leave highschool is when you realize that whatever happened in highschool never mattered.
If you're underage, or around the age of 18, and you're reading this I suggest you try building up your friendships and your personal self rather than your intimate relationships. How you look at yourself will probably be the most important thing.
Love yourself before you love anyone else.

Honestly, it’s better to just focus on friends during your elementary-hs years. Especially your high school years, your friends are the ones who will support you and help you in some way. Friendships are meaningful and teaches you in some way. Imo, relationships before 16 is like puppy love or w/e that’s called. You think your significant other is the real deal but they generally don’t last long because of petty reasons. Sure, you’ll learn from it but just save yourself from that embarrassment as years pass by and you occasionally think about it. Plus, after four years people scatter. By senior year, people will ignore one another and focus on college applications and practically prepare on becoming more independent and time management. Being busy as you grow older is real lol.
