Lotus gets so much attention, and deservedly so. But BRM impressed me even more, as they designed and built the entire car - including the engine and gearbox - in their own shop. About the only thing they didn't make were the tires.

But dont be disapointed!!..,the tires were Dunlop Racing SP!!,also British!!!

This individual car deserves the adoration normally reserved for a Ferrari or Lotus.

What a great, unique sound the BRM 1.5L V8 had! Great car. My dad was a big Graham Hill fan, and I remember having a Matchbox BRM as a toddler. Thanks for this video. I'll take anything that shows this car running!

a shame that they didn't get Damon to drive it, his helmet above the cockpit would have been the icing on a wonderful cake

@@derekantill3721 I am aware of that, but Graham isn't available and Damon wears his father's helmet colours, hence my comment

Cars with such history, should be cloned, once. So the original can be preserved as this one is, and so the clone car can be raced flat out. But, only the owner of the original can bring the clone to races, and the clone included in the price when the original is sold.

As someone who's put a lot of miles on a lot of cars (including 250000+ miles on one F250!), it surprises me how fragile and low-milage a lot of these racecars are, both vintage and modern :-/

Only had to be strong enough to cross the finish line, extra strength is extra weight, and that slows down the car.

Try driving that F250 absolutely flat out at all times and see how sturdy it is then. I drove a 2002 Dodge Ram 3500 Cummins dually around a 6 mile tarmac & concrete rally stage in 2014 and when I got to the flying finish the front brake pads were actually on fire.

@@cogboy302 Sounds about right for a street car. At regular normal everyday speeds, the Ram would last longer then the F-250 :)

Would have been so much better if we'd seen some close up details of the car and a proper description of it, instead of all those picturesof that American et al. By the way I live near Bourne where they were made.

Too much people, not enough car.
