- Hey Ghoulz! I started filming this video back in December, then picked it back up in March. I was hesitant to edit and upload as I was unsure if I was being dramatic about my disappointment, but my feelings about Mattel Creations and the overall Monster High collector lineup are the same. I think some people can relate to the feeling, especially with the recent Addams Family drop. Enjoy!

I completely agree with you, not enough people give Mattel flak for releasing playline or subpar quality dolls for collector prices.
Very true, but a huge amount of dolltubers are MH fans, so yea, not gonna get a lot of criticism 😂
I think most of us are so fed up with Mattel. Every single Skullector release is a complete disaster. Overrun by reseller bots, fang club a complete waste, payments not going through for MANY, not shipping to certain countries even though they used to. That one time when they sent a bunch of He-man figures instead of FDC Draculaura.
Every $60+ doll looks like a $30 doll max. With the exception of Jinafire who at least looks more substantial.
Mattel a hot mess.
As I do agree about the reseller bots and scalpers problem as much as payments going through for many, I do have to ad that since it’s a website and not an app or an actual store. As a foreign monster high fan I do appreciate the fact that there is a website because I would never be able to buy any doll I really want otherwise and this happened to me with the Vampire Heart draculaura that I wanted with all my heart but Amazon just never delivered her to me and kept the 175€ I had paid for almost 2 months as she was only available on Amazon US. Plus, there also are a lot of the collectors that would buy masses of dolls and wouldn’t allow people to have some as Amazon doesn’t have any limit.
On the other hand, the international shipping issue also occurred on the MGA website and now the only Bratz and rainbow high dolls I can buy are the ones that are sold on my local Amazon which is sometimes very few but this happens with monster High as well since Americans get all the lines and we in Europe only have 5 Monster High lines which really bugs me. I think the best Monster High release in the past 4 years is definitely the Frankie Stitched in Style doll that has been available for such a long time and every doll should get this treatment as I ordered mine a week ago for a European retail price on my local Amazon and she came perfect.
So I do agree on the quality of the dolls that is so much not what it used to be but the website at least give us a chance to have the dolls we could never have had on a normal release but maybe it is all coming from me because I never had any problem with it in 2 years.

I completely agree, a lot of the premium MH dolls aren’t that great for the price. I can get around three dolls for that price, with about the same quality mind you. I’ve basically completely shifted my focus to the older releases, creepros (mostly to complete my Original dolls) and g3. I was so shocked they gave the creeproduction spectra poly hair, especially since they already have a Saran blend for her haunt couture doll. Sad to see a company downgrade already perfect dolls by using cheap materials, not treat their loyal fan base with respect and restock somewhat frequently especially with repros/new releases, etc.
I've felt that Mattel doesn't care about fans & adult collectors. They know they'll make the money, so they make what we like, but don't care if it's good quality. And don't care if dolls are hard to get. I was shocked I got the Wednesday Addams 2 pack, but why does it have to sell out in 8 minutes. They know these dolls will sell out....why not make a lot more, so at least most fans can get them ? But 🤷♀️...its their company, I guess. We either buy from them or not, they don't care.
i agree its unfair not everyone can get them but the point of it being a collector limited release is to have limited stock

I agree with you, I had G1 dolls as a child but the $75 dollar price is just not justifiable in this economy, I been satisfied just getting the G3 dolls that are a lot cooler imo than the G1 dolls they keep releasing
I’m loving most of G3, especially the core dolls! I wish they would shift more focus to those and keep going the Creeproductions route for G1.
I'm flat out refusing to buy dolls with polypropylene hair for full price, if I really want them they have to clearance out🤷♀️😑
I feel SO badly for the creative teams. Mattel is a corporation and cares nothing for anything but maximizing profits. The love collectors have for their dolls delights them endlessly because they know they can produce them as cheaply as possible and people will buy them anyway. It makes me so sad that corporate ethics elevate naked greed over human excellence. It must be very hard to be an artist there.
I can only imagine! They have so much rich talent there, and it’s a shame that the executions of their visions don’t seem to pan out properly.

Good for you! Mattel needs to hear honest feedback. I think it may be working, the seem to be using saran hair on more of the play line Barbies. If I buy a new Barbie, it's usually one from the 80's 90's or early 00's.
I love buying new 90s Barbies, the quality against newer playline and collector dolls is amazing!
I'm so mad at Mattel. I wanted the Black Lagoon doll. I was not familiar with buying the collector series. So I paid for the membership. The day the doll was open to buy- sold out in 5 minutes. What? That's weird. So I decided to get bext day open to public- had to take care of my grandson first- sold out again in like 8 minutes? How was I to know they only make enough dolls for all the resellers to buy and make money rather than Mattel. The doll isn't that great for me to pay exaggerated price. I'm disgusted with Mattel.
Ugh I’m sorry! 😣 I had a similar experience last week with the Addams Family set.
To me, MH G3 and Bratz payline are kinda tied in the quality control department, but for 20/30 USD that's fine, it boils down to what would you prefer in a doll, I love both, I have a bias for Bratz, but I can enjoy G3. Now talking collector edition dolls, Mattel is lacking a lot. Wonky faces, plastic not pained accessories, chipped make up, and for those prices? Nah, girl. They need to step it up because there are people out here defending MH Alumni dolls quality and prices knowing is not worthy, and then they go sh*t on MGA for every little mistake. Mattel is not paying y'all bills, chill, don't fight for them, or for any company, actually.
You are absolutely right on everything you've said. Mattel does not care about any certain community they are all about making money. Read the fine print before you spend your money on one of these dolls. I bought the fang club operetta which was modestly marked at $50 well honestly for Mattel. But you have to join the club which is $10 it's a membership to be able to buy the doll . My niece also sent me one. So I called Michelle told him what happened and asked to help me return which they did. At first it said my refund was everything but the club membership. But Mattel customers be aware that you must read the fine print if you're going to deal with that company because they do not return your shipping nor the taxes. That's right I got ripped off. I probably could have kept the second doll and put her on eBay for 6 $60 which would have been what somebody would have bought her for normally and got all my money back except for the club membership. What company doesn't return shipping fees. A struggling company like Mattel lol nobody can tell me that they are making these collector dolls in Generation 1 Style so they can make their collectors that like genuine better Happy if they wanted to do that they wouldn't sell them at these ridiculous prices. This is the first time seeing one of your videos and it won't be the last because you tell it like it is and you are right but tell does not give a crap

My MR Spectra has her Lashes rooted into her left eye. I was so disappointed and emailed mattel. They gave me a refund but i wish they would do exchanges overseas. Glad the hair isnt that bad and i didnt need to restyle them
Oh Dom, let me tell you my beef. Long story short, Mattel Creations cancelled my order for the Creature. I was pissed, but also relieved (they don't need to know this) because they released the Addams Family set two weeks later?? That was my number one want from them, so all good, I'll get those and curse Mattel more than I normally do. Friend secured our dolls, so all good there. Just hoping they don't cancel our order.
As much as I want to say I am done with them, I still want that Midnight Runway Cleo. But hell, I definitely feel like such a Mattel hater, while simultaneously adoring their older products. They CAN do good, I only got the Ghoulia creepro, and she's on my desk looking perfect. G3, fangtastic. The very occasional Barbie repro I have, stunning. Overpriced, but stunning.
Idk, I'm still so pissed at them at their handling of the Creature. So many people missed out on that and the Addams Family set because of their SHITE handling of their stock, QC, ordering. Garbo AF.

You're right cuz people tear down bratz/rh for giving quality but then will eat up the mediocre monster high releases?
I'm sorry but these toy companies need to realise that children just don't play dolls anymore or stop playing with them early on. People will probably disagree but that's what just this is, most of them are on their phones almost from their cribs lol Focus entirely on the collectors, release fewer dolls but with better quality. Considering that a lot of people seem to buy just about everything, I doubt they'd even take a big hit financially considering toy sales have been declining massively anyways. Get rid of the useless plastic crap (not Mattel but the new Bratz line had a ton of that - I'd rather have a collectible card or whatever than that) and stopppppp with the chunky plastic jewelry that looks melted and these cheap fabrics!!! Even a lot of collectible Barbie have that and it looks cheap and disgusting, just use whatever fake cheap metal for jewelry at least, it can't be that much expensive. And this is more me since I have never been a Monster High fan but all these collector lines look so terribly overdesigned........ There's a ton going on every time and none of it goes well together or is fully realised.
Long rant lol but just a lot on my mind regarging dolls right now hahah

I feel like mattel cares but not that much and is very consistentil in that..mga just doesn't care at all i.m.o...mga is nothing but shelf warmers at this point..always bratz..rainbow high..etc. Every brand they have tanks itself before the market itself can...example rainbow high and omg fierce.
Agreed these G1 collector and special edition dolls are not all that, not for what they are asking for $, and when u compare them to other special edition dolls out there like the project rainbow line or Lily Cheng from RH the difference in design and quality is very apparent.
