Combat Mission Fortress Italy should get a module for North Africa and Red Thunder should definitely get a module to add Kursk (They have the Germans from 1943 already for Fortress Italy so half the work done)
@@TacticsWithJoe If they do, they should also get Poland, BeNeLux and East and West Germany in Cold War (I know they are working on the BAOR at the moment) asap. Would also like to see maybe an Operation Unthinkable scenario and the Korean War. I know they won't, but I think the Pacific theater would be a great title addition.
I came across this channel straight from the trailer about the takeover of the combat mission series by Matrix Games. And this is a wonderful coincidence! I really like the content on this channel and I will definitely stay longer!
It's funny how a western game studio doesn't want to update Black Sea because it's a touchy subject. Meanwhile, the Russian devs of Syrian Warfare are making a RTS called Front Edge, which is set during the Russo-Ukrainian war. It doesn't look bad either.
@@TacticsWithJoe Not exactly - think it's more like another "hypothetical cold-war-gone-hot" scenario, with factions being Russia vs USA (which is probably even more ironic at this time) But yeah, from what I've seen, the game itself actually looks not bad - th-cam.com/video/wanOS9TnN2Y/w-d-xo.html

Ugh... I understand but i am a little frustrated with the decision. It is one of the better Combat Mission games with some amazing weapon systems. It's also one of the better selling ones on steam.
@@TacticsWithJoe if you bought The Suffering a few days ago, consider making a refund and buy them again, as the GOG team managed to get a farewell discount.
I'm not sure what exactly is going on. I think Black Sea is a fantastic game and I enjoy the modern era. I wouldn't avoid buying it because things could change in the future.
Hi Joe. I'm looking to grab a Combat Mission game in the sale but wanted to ask which has the best armoured battles. I really enjoy the Graviteam games but am after something with a bit larger scale tank warfare. Shock Force 2 looks interesting for a modern setting but seems more combined arms focused.
Graviteam is primarily an Eastern Front game, and if you enjoy that theater, the Red Thunder might be for you. Black Sea is also a good one, too, if you enjoy bothe Soviet and US. If Shock Force is calling your name, then get that one. It's better to buy the one you want vs. me telling you to buy something else. They are all Combined Arms focused. The battles also aren't to the scale of Graviteam.
Cold War is combined arms too, but the soviet's have actually decent tanks that can take a hit or two. For getting frustrated by their armor plates try it. Cold War takes you to a timeframe where only the later US platforms destroy the opponents easily. Red Thunder has the Eastern Front vibe so many seem to desire. It is WW2 and therefore it's infantry supported by tanks and only some pure tank battles will happen. Both versions have quick battle generators, so you are free to explore all your desires.
As far as I know and I have read the announcements by Battlefront and Matrixgames, they work on a new version. But it will arrive when it's ready... That can take while ;)
It would be awesome if Combat Mission got a new engine with a modern control scheme.
I'd take a new engine. What would a modern control scheme be?
