  • A deep, powerful, and profound teaching intended especially for those facing death or illness - all of us! The talk is entitled "A Good Dose of Dhamma" - taken from the book "An Unentangled Knowing" - translated by Thanissaro Bhikkhu.
    The full text can be downloaded here: www.holybooks....
    Upasika Kee Nanayon or Kor Khao-suan-luang was a realized female practitioner from Thailand. She was mostly self-taught, reading the Pali canon and other Buddhist literature. She considered the Buddha's Dhamma as her primary teacher. Her dhamma talks and poetry were widely circulated. As word of her spread, she became one of the most popular meditation teachers in Thailand. This, and many of her talks, have been translated into English by Thanissaro Bhikkhu who sees her as "arguably the foremost woman Dhamma teacher in twentieth-century Thailand."

      You did not ask to come into this world, and you will not be asked to leave, contemplate on that and the suffering will go away and hopefully let the body fight the disease, from one cancer survivor to another

      Yeah! That's why in Bhagavad Gita, Krishna chose the battlefield to give his ultimate teaching to Arjuna. He could have given this teaching anytime before or after when things were calm, but it's only when we really feel we have something to lose that we stop being complacent and become REALLY willing to learn.😇💙💚💛

    Thank you for (recording?) and uploading this! Upasika Kee Nanayon is so clear in her expression of the Dhamma. She opens the Dhamma for me in ways few others can. "Pure and Simple" was the first work I encountered of her, after hearing Joseph Goldstein mention it in a talk he gave. Again, thank you, and best of luck!

    I have SCDS, a thinning of the canal in the inner ear. It makes a person off balance and sometimes have vertigo. Listening to this makes me feel better knowing we are nothing. Our mind and body are separate. I try to make my mind empty. It’s hard, but I’m progressing by small degrees. I listen to this one over and over
    Thank you Samaneri for all these lessons in life. You have an infectious voice ❤

      Hi, I am ordained in the Theravadin Forest Tradition of Ajahn Chah and Ajahn Sumedho. However, as you have probably figured out I love, learn from, and appreciate Dharma in all its disguises and traditions.

      @@SamaneriJayasara Thanks for answering. I was quite curious as I see you post many readings of the theravadic tradition and I had guessed you practiced Theravada Buddhism but however I seen avalokiteshvara/Guanyin as your profile pic and then went to your older readings of the heart and diamond sutra of Mahayana tradition so I was quite curious haha. I also love Ajahn Chah’s teachings and they’re quite useful. I personally am more educated and more practiced in the Mahayana branch and pure land branches but I’ve practiced all at a certain point and time aswell as many different religions and they’ve all lead me to the same realization and same end goal. Thus I am quite a follower of Sri Ramakrishna and many Indian mystics that have held the same realization through experience that I so have felt. Anyways, glad you responded! May you stay well! Blessings to you.

    I wanted to say, in my life I experience what we call pain and anxiety. I'm not in constant agony, but I do have many challenges every day.
    My point is that this video (and part two) help me every day. 100% of the times that I apply it.
    These teachings in general have helped me for years whenever I decide it's more important to find relief in truth than to indulge in being a "me" in discomfort.
    Listening to this video especially has proven to be a cure for every attack of discomfort of any sort. I can't recommend it enough. Don't just listen to this once. Use it as medicine when you are feeling bad. And then realize all the smaller times you're feeling bad that you just considered normal and apply it there too.
    Thanks again Jayasara for making this available.

    • @otterrivers3765
      @otterrivers3765 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@crystalclearice YES! In all life there is suffering. It doesn't have to be to the extreme before you can apply this teaching. Every day you feel bad for some reason or other. The human body itself is a form of suffering. Feeling disconnected from the all and feeling like you're on your own to fend for yourself. Everyone needs this teaching but we don't usually look for it until the pain or fear is so strong that we get desperate for any help. We tend to consider all the pain of everyday life to be normal.

    What if some thought gets stuck in your head and you let it go , but it keeps coming back and haunts you again, you let it go again, but it tells a fearful story attach to it that if you let this go, that fearful story might come true, and you are scared and your mind keeps you in compulsion of doing something, keeps you in guilt, even though you can let go the thought, but the fearful story attached keeps that fear in you of letting go of thought, what to do with this kind of situation?

      Have you looked into DBT, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy? It incorporates mindfulness. A good therapist who uses this in his/her practice could be a good resource.
