The reason imported JDM car radio's don't work correctly is the FM frequency range. In Japan and NZ, the range is 76-90Mhz while in everywhere else in the world is 88-108Mhz. So the Japanese radio can't tune to local station without installing a band expander. However this is seldom done unless the HU is part of the car and cannot be removed since the component cost more then simply buying a new HU.

let me tell you about the lighter color in the cack. my wife is claustrophobic. We looked for a car and this is what she said, if the color inside would be lighter I would feel beter. so it may be a point for smaller cars.
