will..I'm new to ebike's myself, bought one late November of 2024 ( Vitilan V3 Foldable bike ) also a cheap SUB thousand ebike that is also made in China , I love it , i wish i had a 6k ,10k ebike , but living in a building , just can't see myself parking that expensive ebike in the bike rack parking lot area, so yeah, i might consider getting a better one in the future, so yeah , would like to see more affordable cool ebikes to see in your channel , thx
@@JaredHoff No no... Their ebikes they have deals on them for full power mid drive ebikes with real suspension. (And a second battery and a 5 year warranty)
@@JaredHoff the only problem with the Yamaha is that they only come with 27.5 tires so I'm not sure if you upgrade the fork to get a 29 wheel added is worth it.
I know you picked up those E-bikes because they gave you them for free, and I would have done the same. If you want to support your LBS there are brands like Denago who have similar bikes at similar prices. The great part about that is they will be backed by your LBS and the shop will definitely have no problem working on them
@@JaredHoff all of ours carry the $$$$ bikes, but we have two shops that are carrying affordable commuter and entry level e-bikes. I guess we are lucky that way
I actually love my cheap ebikes. $2,500 is probably about mid price for what I would pay for a ebike. I will probably never own a $5000 ebike or higher price tag than that. I also live in a bad neighborhood right now. I prefer my cheap commuter bikes over my ebikes. I will probably end up selling 2 of my ebikes due to me not riding them, both are under the $2000.
I’m not sure why the green Chinese e bike has dual suspension..surely they know it’s not going to be used as a legit off road bike. They would be better off saving weight and money by making it a hardtail and potentially using better components..
@@JaredHoff Ye fair call..I guess it depends on where you’re riding it. To me it’s a commuter with dual suspension as a selling point and looks..I just think they’d be better off deciding it’s a commuter and making it good at that without extras so costs stay low..

Your opening was so far off I was surprised. You think mountain bikers don't ride other bikes? I understand you don't want to review commuter bikes on your MTB channel but 'true mountain bikers" do ride many types of bikes. I ride a cheap commuter ebike because it's fun and I can ride it without getting hot and sweaty. I also think you should review all kinds of bikes. Seth does and people enjoy those videos. We all live different off the trails.
@@JaredHoff I do enjoy mountain bikers reviewing these types of bike but that bike at $1,900 is not a cheap ebike. Lectric makes then around $1K (a few at $800) and they are good for what they are, Ride1Up makes decent ebikes too. I have a beach cruiser ebike and it's super fun to ride but that's the only expectation I have for that bike. Going 30 MPH w/ out pedaling is a blast!
Eye of the beholder. If I spend 1,500 to 2,000 USD on a street E-bike. I am going to expect durability and safe batteries within it's use class. I do not call those "Cheap". The 5 to 10k bikes are a different level of use. I mean one could call the 5K bike cheap in the shadow of the 10K bike.
After seeing my coworker's ebike catching on fire in my office while it was getting charged. It's not the 'bike' part I worry about. It's the battery part that's scary to me.
@@JaredHoff yeah battery cells were exploding with loud noise, flame was shooting out of cells, everyone evacuated the building, and a fire truck came to put out the fire. It was whole fiasco.
@@JaredHoff i get that.. but there are 2nd hand bikes (fromsome shady dude in a dark alley) and 2nd hand bikes - from a local shop with warranty.... right now i am looking at an orbea wild (fs h20) from 2022 with less than 200 miles on it for 2.5k€, 2 years warranty. which seems to be a much better deal than an aliexpress order with questionable warranty and potential import fees....
Why does that green thing have a massive BB arrangement like it was designed for a mid-motor? Can you get it with a mid-drive? I don't like them, they're basically already landfill. We buy way too much crap from China as it is. They're the exact sort of thing that'll burn your house down. I'd have bought some cheap wheels and commuter tyres for the Polygon and a hefty lock. Each to their own though 👊
Head over to the China observer channel, it's good for seeing the real videos on evs and these ebikes that gets covered up! Just be cautious of those dodgy batteries in fake ebikes! That's the only way I describe them now. From my real e-bike, I'll say, "Heading to shops taking the fakey," haha! But it saves the mileage on my 7k emtb, and there's not as much risk of it being stolen, or I really wouldn't care as much. Bafang hub drives, though, are definitely not waterproof. Don't ride them in the rain or wet road conditions; they leak like a sieve! Mine was completely ruined and seized after eight months! Really, four of those months were winter when the bike shut down for good! When I opened the motor, there were no seals on the hub drives, no watertight gasket seals, or watertight glues. Just metal pressed against the metal body, so water was being forced in with the wheel spinning, I think, and then washing it a couple of times! The motor doesn't have a drain hole for the water or condensation to escape, so it's done for!
@JaredHoff Plenty of videos show the inside of the factory and water testing on them as well, but the tests don't last longer than 1 minute for their mid-drive motor! If I can help with my experience and friends I've helped, fellow MTBR! Also, be careful charging these; they don't have overcharge protection built-in. That's another technology we pay for in our Bosch, Shimano, Brose, etc. I think there are only two of these Chinese e-bikes I've seen recently with a big UC-certified sticker on the frame, but again, China being China, a sticker can just be a sticker! I charged mine in the garage in a metal safe, the same as I would do for my RC batteries. I just didn't trust them like I do my Bosch! Stay safe and interesting video choice but for commuting they are good when they work and keeps the mileage off the good Emtb, and don't worry as much about theft of it like you would your expensive bike! The neoprene battery covers don't help either they do loose alot power like an iphone in the cold it'll jsut drop to 60% from 100% never experienced this yet on a real ebike battery maybe 8%.
i am scared of batteries on cheap bikes. Thats the only problem I am scared of. Other than that they are perfect for commuting.
