- Weezer's Rivers Cuomo and Patrick Wilson chat with us backstage in Glasgow as they continue their co-headline UK tour with The Smashing Pumpkins. They talk through their plans to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their debut 'The Blue Album' on the road later this year, working with Dominic Fike and their recent support slot with Rivers' heroes in KISS.

Pat looks like he's having flashbacks to the war
Weezer and Smashing Pumpkins were both great in Manchester last night..
Weezer smashed it in London, been waiting YEARS to see them live, first single I ever bought was Buddy Holly.
It's ok Rivers, if it makes you feel any better I was there at that Sydney show where you supported KISS and I was basically there for you.
Weezer in one of my favourite cities. Hope they come back sometime !!
It would be great to get the Blie album anniversary tour in the UK. They skipped us for the 20th tour. We never got Pinkerton memories tour either. Both those albums should be played in full with all the b sides. Could fit easily into a 90 minute show
interviewer asked some great questions
Love Holiday & the world has turned
At 2:40 they start talking about Hole and Courtney Love.
Why did weezer start playing so early in the Glasgow concert? There are articles of people still waiting in the queues to get in the hydro after weezer started playing…
It was published online what time they would be starting. Ticketmaster also emailed the start time of the show. It’s a double headliner slot and they came on at half 7- when should they have started?
@@Mooray27 No no people were there on time and were still left standing in the queues outside while they were playing.
@@S1r3n__ ok I get what you’re saying now. I’d say that it’s not that they started playing early, but that the doors open time was far too late. I was there at 1700, thinking they’d open the doors by half past. Instead it was nearly half 6 and by then the queues to get in were long. Teenage mortgage came on about 2 minutes after doors open. That was ridiculously late. They should’ve been letting us in by 1800, tops.
@@Mooray27 Yeah I agree. Apparently the opening act started as soon as the doors opened as well.
Weezer saved me
I wonder how Corgan feels about celebrity skin
Well here's some insight at the New Jersey 30 yr anniversary show in 2018 (july) I think... I was there and he played Malibu and Celebrity skin . Then Courtney came out and sang the chorus of bullet with butterfly wings. He also played Malibu when I saw him at the beacon theatre in 2016 and claimed he wrote half of the hole album and the cowriting credits aren't exactly accurate. Also Courtney said on Howard Stern that Billy "only" wrote the chugga chugga cheesy part. She claim d to hate it. But at th anniversary show she said it was Billy's song which to me indicated he wrote the HOLE 🕳️ thing😅.
She said she hated it and rejected it but Billy insisted no no the kids are gonna love it. And Courtney said "lesson here: BILLY'S ALWAYS RIGHT!!" AND she literally screamed that so ½ the audience couldn't even really register it.
Check it out for yourself. It was at the PNC center in New Jersey 2018 30th anniversary show. Peter Hook and Chino (and the dude from sugar Ray covered Judas Priest, but to see James playing "fly" on an acoustic guitar was certainly a thrill) Deftones dude picked the songs to sing and he chose snail and bodies.
Cool will do haha
Interviewer had too much Red Bull. I'm here waiting on Rivers to reform Avant Garde
The drummer is a dead fish, he should never be in another interview again EVER!! Hahaha!
Kurt's bandmates are more like handlers. He always seems to have one or two of them sitting there monitoring the conversation. In case he says too much. He gives hints at times, like in this video around 2:40 they start talking about Hole and Courtney Love.
