Glad you enjoyed Oktoberfest Andy. It's an amazing event. We were there week before. Visited six funfairs including the huge one at Stuttgart. Look forward to seeing your other German vlogs.
Great video Andy. 11 of us were there the week after you buy mainly for the beer 🍺. 2nd year for us and already booked for next year. It's an awesome place.
great vlog andy! ive been waiting for this one. I've visited oktoberfest for the first time also this year and it was amazing. You haven't been on both of these break dances before :)
What an amazing vlog and what an awesome atmosphere at Oktoberfest Munich. It's such a well organised event with a lot of top rides and attractions, it makes the UK fairs look naff. I must try and visit this place sometime in the future if the opportunity arises.
You really do and yeah once you have done 1 big UK fair you have done them all before lol, I wish German fairs had 10 Break Dancers and 5 different big awesome coasters
@@Coaster_Crazy Totally agree on the once you've done one, done them all comment. 10 Break Dancers, come on now Andy, don't be greedy, 9 will do just fine. LOL 🤣
Good to see you visit the Oktoberfest in Munich it looks a great event with a top ride line up too , i have not been there but went to Belgian Beer Weekend fest in Grand Marche in Brussels a few times many years ago that is good too , great vlog as always Andy 🍺🎢👍
I was there a couple of days after you and go most years. It really is great but to be honest, I mainly go for the beer. 😂 The fair is still incredible though.
What an amazing place. So full of atmosphere and life. Living south west UK (bath, I know that's not your favourite place Andy, I watch most your vlogs) we get nothing like that down here. The Easter fair is literally the same rides that were there when I grew up in the 90s, and we can't even claim a summertime Carter's anymore. I hope I can visit one day.
Tbh I’d like to go back to Bath at some point but not for the Christmas market as it was so busy ! I want to go back to see the Roman Baths and any museums that are there
Awesome vlog, hope to get to Oktoberfest someday, it's a bucket list trip. We had plans actually, but covid killed that and we haven't made new plans yet. Technically it would be getting back as I was there as a very small child, so I have some vague memories. I was born in Germany and lived there until I was 5 and we also went to Europa and Holiday Park as well, but that was back in the 80s, haha. I just remember odd bits and pieces.
Hey, enjoying the vlog so far, quick question, we are looking to start doing the odd POV from time to time. Do you ever have issues getting permission? How do you go about getting permission? Is it as simple as asking at the front? lol
I wouldn’t bother to be honest, 80% of the UK parks don’t allow on ride filming what so ever and the parks that do allow it you have to email them ahead of your visit !! There is very little parks these days that allow you to do POV’s however if you did funfairs they love the attention and don’t really care if you do or not but always make sure it’s a secured action camera and not your phone in your hand
Sorry but this trip was filmed over 3 weeks ago, I’m behind with my video up loads plus Skyline park was closed during the week when I was there otherwise I would have done it
You HAD to do Olympia Looping.. I mean, it has it's real name in Munich... and yes.. you will always be pulling out more money out of the atm.. cause it is worth tho.. katching. My Goodness, when I saw you went to Oktoberfest in Munich, I was so happy for you and the adventure you were gonna have :) YAY to Partner for Encouraging you, She is Awesome. Man, tbh I'd be afraid to rent a car just cause I can't drive stick shift plus the public transportation is so good. Plus when I went, I went with a group so everything was settled already including coaches/bus reservations. Still I think for the pure adventure and learning experience, you leaped and that is probably the biggest learning experience. I did figure out the S-Bahn at least from the airport to the Hotel, lol. It is so funny how much you want to have Lederhosen when you go, it just feels right, like you need it to really fit in and party. *ahem* I did get some tho I haven't been back in a long time. Makes for a silly costume for Halloween in the US at least. The best advice for Oktoberfest is just to be super friendly to everyone, you never know what experience will happen. You might get pulled into a tent (kinda hard without tix or a very patient attitude, light sleeping schedule) or just meet some super cool Locals who will buy you bier after bier hanging out in a biergarten having the silliest of times. We had reservations and it is genuinely an unreal the experience. It's not about getting drunk for most, it is about a communal experience. (even if it's kinda hilarious to see all the overly festive folks) The food, the singing, meeting people from all over the world..unforgettable. The chicken in the Festzelts is so tasty. When you among that many people, just having fun it's so interesting. Of course the rides are incredible. The coasters, S Tier for traveling types. Flat Rides.. the Best of The Best. I had never been on such a tall StarFlyer before, tho, being afraid of heights.. adult beverage assistance in bravery helped.. plus just chatting wtih my random German Seatmate who was so nice. Also beyond, Munich is gorgeous and historical, for good and bad of course. It was a very meaningful trip is all I will say on that point. Such fun times, I will say as an American, my first ride was one of the Breakdances and it blew my mind. It was a weekday and we got nearly an 8 minute cycle. That was when I knew this was a special time, lol. Like we only got a local traveling Breakdance type ride THIS YEAR, seriously, and it's run kinda tame. Sigh. Parkour was a fun time. Yep, Toboggan is a challenge if you are drunk, but as long as you remember to lean forward and Don't grab onto the handrails, you'll be fine, lol. Def a good time to watch tho. Alas Teufels Rad.. it is not Nakey Ladies. Tho that is a fun idea. It is a challenge, stay on the spinning wheel as long as possible while the operators try to dislodge y ou. It is really fun tbh. They call up various groups to try it out from the crowd. Locals, Foreigners, ladies, guys, certain age groups and others, best to know a little German to be sure but it really is innocent. I'd have loved if you had tried it. But of course Olympia Looping in MUNICH plus Alpina Bahn.. I mean they are both beyond coasters and are just ART. Riding it at night in the rain when it was just Flying...so intense. We have theme parks in the US that can't keep less than 5 year old coasters in any shape and the owners of those coasters keep them immaculate. But yeah, if you can, ride. There have always been rumors of their retirement which does makes sense as they are up there in years tho not in feel. Wilde Maus.. both sides are required for sure. "I'm not gonna bother with Alpina Bahn"... "I'm hitting up Alpina Bahn cause why not.. " LUL I can't disagree,.. any theme park would be happy with that coaster tbh. Funniest memory, being approached by an apparent Bridal Party looking to sell.. um items...as a challenge to the Bride(?) aka embarassing her as much as possible. Anyways, It's awesome to see you Finally get to the Best Volksfest of them all. It truly looks like you had such an amazing and meaningful time. Like Bucket List accomplished. Oktoberfest is the Goal of all FunFairs. It is just special in so many ways. And I hope you are proud to have made it there, at last as deserved. :) Still it does beg the question, what is your fave fun fair.. ? I would absolutely suggest coming back with a group of Frens into a Festzelt, tho those seating reservations need to be made very early in the year to avoid stress. Otherwise as said, you gotta wait in line for hours. Research the tents to figure out what fits with your vibe. You don't need to drink alcohol but the experience is one of a kind inside. Heck, my first time into the Lowenbrau tent, I drank Diet Coke (more expensive than beer funny enough) with a group of peeps who indulged and I def had a great time and lost my voice singing. Oide Wiesn is super interesting too as an super old school Oktoberfest experience with very old style rides tho not available some years. I'm just glad you made it. As a fun fair enthusiast, all roads lead to Munich. Hyde Park seems cool but as a brand, an expensive brand. I've had a hard life post my visit to Oktoberfest which I expected. My mom passed from Cancer and then my dad via Dementia recently. I hope to visit Hyde one day. What matters most is my advice to everyone, take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way. Enjoy your life to the fullest. Coaster Crazy Does, and so can you :) Taking a moment to breathe and just live for yourself matters.
@@Coaster_Crazy Adventures like you go on are worth the time 😀 You give us viewers something special putting yourself in a spotlight while spending quite a few pennies
You know how everything on camera looks slower than in real time. Yeah that first breakdance looked really fast. Wouldn’t surprise me if some people get sik on it with all those drunken people. Greatest fair in the world, if you like fairs that is the place you should go. The Bayern curve I’ve been on was different, bobsled seating behind each other not next to and different track the hills are different. This one looked nice I have to say. The one I went on looked a bit faster but most of them aren’t really fast, also they are older rides so I don’t aspect them to be fast. Most newer music expresse, Himalaya rides in English and Rups or Bedulle for us Belgians are a lot faster. Still love to see them on the fairs. New rides are more spectacular but those old rides are nostalgic and are a part of fun fair history to keep for the future. This vlog had some Swartzkopf greatness thanks for sharing Andy.
Glad you enjoyed the vlog !! Yeah that Bayan Curve was more like a Superbob or Music Express to be honest but still a damn good ride and beautiful to look at
That’s the thing with the big UK fairs they always say they are the biggest in Europe but they go off the number of rides and attractions and not actually ground size, Oktoberfest is one of the biggest I’ve done for sure
@@Coaster_Crazy Tilburg also advertises with 233 rides, but also the food and gamble stands are included. The actual rides are like 50 or so. Have you done "The Entertainer" Huss Magic? Live Djs, super fast, fireworks from the middle of the ride, water jets, Smoke bubbles, lasers and such a great show. You should try that one. It is the most extreme HUSS magic I have ever done.
It is a custom ride made by Zierer in the 60s, the Schwarzkopf Bayernkurve is a completely different experience. It goes much faster. We dont have any of those left in Germany, but there is a beatiful one travelling in France. You can see it in Strasbourg, Metz, Nancy and at Luxemburg every year.
