This is part 2 of Simon Phillips' warm-up exercises, as part of three. If you nail only 10% of his level, you will do more than fine as a drummer on rudiments and fills. Already published on Drummerszone.com in 2014, but straight from the Drummerszone Vault, now also on TH-cam.
Simon Phillips plays several rudiments on the snare. A few quick lessons on how to create your own variations with these basic rudiments:
- Ratamacue ~ in three different ways
- Triplets with flams
- single, double and triplet Paradiddles ~ combined!
- and finally: swapping them all to make you mind work better with these patterns
