This version was a full Canada cast and was filled in Prince Edward Island. It stayed as true to the books as it posdiable could. This will always be my true version of this story
I absolutely love her laugh! It's only a small chuckle in this clip, but look back at the movies and you'll see what I mean. And in this interview, she's so eloquent but down-to-earth at the same time. You can tell she's really involved in her role as Anne (which is less of a role and more of who she really is!) and not just reading off of a script the whole time. I wish I could meet her. (:

Megan IS Anne! No one else could ever hope to play the part as well as she did. She stole our hearts playing that part. With that said, I did not like this movie, the first two were brilliant but this third one did not even come close!

Netflix does an amazing job with showing us that we can fell, we can be hurting. Society today preach that we need to be robots, don't feel, don't cry, don't stop being productive. Just look at the amount of people using antidepressives. They made an adaptation for your society now, to give us hope and sense of belonging and acceptance of ourselves. I don't know if I explained it well. But, it is what I though watching it.

Although I didn’t mind the small glances into her past it got rather aggravating after a few episodes when she began to get tears in her eyes at the smallest jab of teasing or discomfort. I know for a fact that the original Anne would never do anything of the sort; she’d keep her head high and fight back. I’m disappointed in the Netflix adaptation for that. And that only.
I didn’t mind one or two flashbacks to help explain her background, but I DID very much mind them introducing topics on Anne’s mensural initiation and her friend’s sexuality. They were not at all part of the author’s story, and in my opinion, not necessary to introduce to the many young children who may have tuned in. It ruined the innocence we’ve come to love about Anne.

It amazing to me when actors have such a different take on a character they're portrayed that's made the role loveable and identifiable. Her description of Anne as some feminist in the making is NOT what I was seeing, thank goodness. I was watching a hapless young girl learn and face humble pie as she discovered loving people in an often loveless world who championed her upbringing, fostered her giftings and talents by which she helped many others.
Why on earth did Sullivan not decide to go on according to how the books go years ago if he wanted to continue with the series? This "Continuing Story" thing was so badly critisized. It's a completely made up story. There's nothing like this in any of Montgomery's books. Only the first 4 books were used to make the 1st and 2nd movies. If he wanted to continue the story, all he had to do was look at the next book and start reading further untill he saw how the story goes further on and "Bingo"!
Pantbera by the time the war hit, anne and gilbert were already married with children. i think by having them as newlyweds and seperated by the war was a better storyline than following them as a married couple sending their kids off to war. ar least following the sequence of the movies, and not the book timeline.
@@tonyp7779 In the books, it was their 3 sons who fought in WW1. And their oldest son's fiancee was a Red Cross volunteer much like Anne was in "The Continuing Story". And their youngest daughter took care of a little war orphan like Anne does in this 3rd movie.

the best part is the first one-the last anne & continuing story was 2 dramatic and they made her look kind of homey. did not like the part when she return 2 Green Gables & the house was in such disrepair.

You almost can't even compare the two because the tone is so different. This is very warm and idyllic, where the other is realistic and feels almost Jane Eyre-ish. I like both for different reasons. I identified more with the new show, but I felt I could escape with this version.

Loved the Anne movies. A shame the 3rd and last series with Follows had a terrible script. She basically just followed Gilbert everywhere.
