So, five years later I still get a few comments and messages daily about this video, is it real or fake? Why didn't I flip the quad back over and take off? Was I going fast? Did I ever get my quad back?
1st off, yes the video is very very real. If you look within this channel you'll see a plethora of forward facing gopro videos of me riding. This day I just happened to turn the camera around for a goof, to try something different. Next thing I know, I'm swinging a donut at an intersection when I see the lights flashing.
2nd, after I hit the snowbank at the crest of the small hill and flipped over I was thrown 10-20 feet from the quad & suffered a fractured leg. To get up, walk over and flip the quad back on four wheels, hop on and kickstart a carb 2 stroke engine that was just upside down with a fractured leg? And do this BEFORE the cops caught up to me?! Sorry, I'm just a mere human. Maybe some of you superheros could do it? Not me!
3rd - was I going fast? At times, very. Fast enough the cops couldn't catch me until I crashed. As fast as I could safely ride on the snow covered roads on a 2wd 2stroke machine not built for snow. Fast enough to be thrown 20 feet from the quad when I crashed.
Did I get my quad back? YES!! Thankfully after months and a court process I was able to get my beloved 250R back - I still own her & although I don't ride as much as I used too (family) I love that quad just as much as the day I bought her! :)

On Feb4th 2010 I was arrested for my part in a high speed chase with police. I had my quad confiscated. Days ago, on July 28th I finally had my court and was given almost 3500$ in fines.

My dad was chased on his 1986 ATC 250R in the snow by a truck in the middle of the night. He spun out and slid into the trees. He shut the lights off so the truck wouldn't see him, when the truck passed he sped off in the opposite direction. I am now the proud owner of that trike

+Steve Ringer my friend if you pull the video up full screen and watch closely from 35 seconds to 40second mark and cant tell that's a police jeep then I dunno what to tell you. You may wanna get those eyes checked.

@613Unknown I guess I'll take a second to respond to this one .. *sigh* ... when I flipped it - into almost 4 feet of wet snow I also sustained a high ankle sprain, broke one rib, fractured two others and fractured my wrist. If you think I was even able to go over to my quad, turned UPSIDE DOWN buried in 4 feet of snow, flip it back over and kick start it with a high ankle sprain - you really don't understand how the human body works.
@jstine1234 You keep on thinking that einstein. If you notice, I have about a hundred videos on here with the camera facing forward - after watching a few rear facing vids I decided to make one of my own. There are rules that say you MUST have the cam facing forward or something? No.
@AIRFOOLERSDOTCOM right on.. i forgot to tell you it was a cool looking vid.. music is perfect :) you should get yourself a portable scanner.. I had one mounted to my backpack and ran a pair of headphones to my helmet.. haven't got chased since..
@SeregaYamborko Sadly no, nobody donated a dime. :( I have been slowly paying off the fines and yes, I have 'balls' - life is short, play hard, ride hard, live life to the fullest. Don't ever let anyone tell you what you can and can't do.
Your right!!!! You need to be running for more then driving on a public road. I would say by the looks of this video, it was taken on a First Nations Reserve and that bike was stolen. Not to mention, I never saw one police office in that video, I did see a vehicle, but it was more than likely not even chasing him. Did the RCMP chase once, many years ago, and I will say that although I did get away, I would never do it again. Anyone have a Honda 250R stolen since this video was taken?
well yeagh i have been in the same situation though, dont say you wouldnt have ran to. Think your rideing on the road and all of a suden woop woop!! You know that the cop behind the wheel of the cruiser is possibly a dick and he may or may not take your quad\bike. So you make a split second decision to either run or stay (fight or fly). Most of the time you stop but come he fuck on your driveing an atv just pull off in to the woods or go through peoples back yard.
"I would have walked away from that crash, I crash like that all the time"...unless u wadded EXACTLY like him in the SAME spot, it's impossible to know if you'd walk away. Every crash is different. "You suck at riding, I would have gotten away easy..". How do u know if the roads were icy/slick as hell? Ever ridden a 250R on icy/snowy pavement? It's hard to even keep the rear end hooking up every time you hammer the throttle, not to mention it takes 4 times as far to stop. Amazing ignorance.
Never mind, I found the part where you explained more. Hope you recovered from your injuries ok. Going back to my point about riding quads in the winter, especially on a highway. Not too smart bro. Of course, if the cops wouldn't have chased you, you likely wouldn't have crashed. Then again, perhaps you should just have stopped and taken your lumps and gone and paid your fines? I dunno how it works where you are from. Where I'm from (NY), you get tickets & pay some fines. Not much more happens.
On 700 Grizz during snowy night, we lost cops in town. Went back the next night, shut quad off, state tropper pulls in behind building blocking us in. All and all they couldnt believe we drove that far from home to get where we were. They let us ride away. Used exuse we were checking gate to cows. I liked the Berger King vid. Check for Grizz goes to Mc Donalds this summer. Sucks if you did get caught and fined.
I think the reason you got nicked was because you were driving unsafely ie likley to smash into my car or my 10 year old daughter out palying, thank god you hit something that wasnt alive and not a person. Correct me if im wrong but I thought there were of road areas for quads and bikes so you can have as much fun as you like without putting anyone at risk ??

Start a chipin account. I would add to the fund. What the hell are the cops in your area worried about?? I have driven to my neighbors houses in similar situations to make sure they could stay warm, I don't have any hard feelings of neighbors deciding to have a little fun in the cold. I will add some funds to counter the assholes clamping down on life.
my good friend did something like this last weeken he had a honda rubicon 500 he was drinkin and the cops chased him into the pines shortly after bumping him and he crashed into a tree where he smacked his face into the tree trunk split his face open no brain damage thankfully but he had to have facial recronstruction but anywayz at least they didnt run you over
@whburton1 yeah, police around here LOVE to just toy around all day filming chase scenes on govt. time and tax payers money. Are you (and anyone else who thinks this is fake) like 12 years old?
@kaleigh79 the camera was backwards because I already had about a hundred forwards facing gopro videos on here by that point. Just so happened THAT would be the day I mount it backwards. :)
in New Mexico they will still impound your atv, utv, or dirt bike even if you pull over. if they want to be assholes but sometimes you might get lucky and get a nice cop that will warn you an then let you go but its a gamble. ur better off heading for the hills

I wouldn't necessarily say 99.9% but it's certainly up there. You're absolutely right tough, it isn't worth it but people that do run away (despite the odds that are stacked against them) usually are either brain dead or have very little to live for.
Everybody's a critic online. Anyone that rides hard ..wrecks, eventually. The 250r is a great bike, dont buy a Craptor660, they are a boat anchor! yfz450 is a better choice. Fitting song choice also. Hope your healin up, and watch the snow banks.lol cool vid!

DId you crash at 1:57, or just deliberately dump the quad? Looked like I saw the wheel of the quad in the air, just before you buried your helmet in the snow, which was actually pretty brilliant by the way!

@MultiVideoFX A huge snow drift had built up across the path. It was just up over a little lip and blind to me until I was hitting it and flipping over.
I did eventually(6 1/2 months after the video) get the 250R back. 5 court dates & a ton of money in lawyers and fines.

Being chase by cops may be fun, BUT there is a 99.9% chance that you will be caught and then you will lose your ride and then go to jail for months! IT'S NOT WORTH IT!!!

@JabberjawGaming they force me to pay 250$ a month. I've only been forced to start paying since 4 months ago. It's a struggle (wife, family kids, etc etc) but we're at least able to make the payments thus far.

3500$ fine for no crime. and the 3500$ goes to a private company, not to be seen by the public....cops/fines = worthless unconstitutional tickets...

they quit in 89 for these quads and for bikes they quit in 07 but watercraft is still some what 2 stroke they have new 4 stroke turbos to

You should of took a trail or something and not stayed on the road.you should of chilled out when you had that much of a lead on the piggy and you would of been golden.
