    I feel like Asus should keep it simple: Make the “G” lineup (G14,G15,G16) AMD + NVIDIA (with some AMD advantage) then make the “M” lineup Intel + NVIDIA (m16, and new m14/15) .
    Honestly, I feel like Asus’s move to intel isn’t that bad, especially when you consider the g16 is basically the m16 from last year with newer internals and cheaper.

    Finding this video review is pure bliss after scoring this Zephyrus G16(QHD+, i9-13900h, RTX4060 variant) for about $1700CAD/$1500USD last Black Friday. I'm aware its not the exact variant as the video but I'm expecting my variant to be a tad better both in performance and overall user experience. These thin Zephyrus lineup are really a great bang for buck especially when you find a good deal! These are $2200CAD/$2000USD Brand new! Unfortunately limited stocks is an issue here. Personally I dont think I there's value in buying past RTX 4060 in this current gen. I do like the i9+RTX4060 combo in this thin chassis tho, very slick and not giving off gamer vibe.

    Imo this does not warrant $300 more than a g5. Either maybe get the G5 or just get the higher tiered g16 mentioned above.

      @GizmoSlipTech  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Where did you find this i9/QHD sku for $200 more? I have not seen it for sale anywhere. Thanks for pointing it out if it is real.
      I disagree with you about this sku being bad though. One key thing to keep in mind is that some people will actually prefer a FHD+ display over the QHD+ because you'll get much higher FPS at native resolution on this lower tier GPU, and many won't be able to see the increased resolution at 16" display, or don't think it's worth the performance hit even if they can see it, so this SKU should be better for maximizing smoothness over detail in games.
      The i9-13900H is almost the same processor, just has 4 more e-cores and slightly higher clocks--so don't think it'll actually make that big of a difference in this situation since it isn't a HX processor. I don't think you'll see much performance gains except in multicore render loads.
      The i9 CPU to buy this year is the HX version that has way more cores/threads--but can only be found in thicker notebooks typically.

      @@techstation365 but again in the end it's up to you, you have the choice to choose so. Performance per watt is obviously the best case in either case
      But if you want efficient things, you may choose that product
      Some people would be willing to loose a few hours of capacity, or take the hassle to carry a charger around because they could justify it over extra performance.
      You can literally undervolt/set thermal clock limits to heavy laptops if you want to chase per per watt. As per Intel, they have generally always sucked more power, even at the same architecture, Intel will probably be willing to suck up more energy to get the extra performance and then there is their nm architecture which can't come to the same standard as amd so soon as they had years of backlog essentially.
      If you want battery over everything, lighter/more efficient notebooks exist
      You're basically saying supercars shouldn't exist as normal cars are fast, but again there's different products for different people and I don't see any loss in here being extra thick performance laptops apart from thin ones

    By the time it's in a mass number of games, we'll be on the 5000 series where Nvidia has frame gen 2.0. and you'll be telling us to buy those over the 4000 series lol

      @GizmoSlipTech  ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Thanks for the comment! It’s good to double check myself. I don’t think you’re factoring portability into the equation. The Legion 5 is heavier and thicker than this machine, significantly. But I literally mention the Legion 5 as the best competitor to this one in this video.
      The G16 has better CPU, windows hello, arguably better display, much more portable, smaller size with bigger display… the legion has its pros too though mainly with better raw gpu performance and larger SSD, though it also costs $50 more.
      Frame gen is a game changer. You need to try it to believe it imo. In frame gen games, this laptop will CRUSH the legion 5 3070 ti by huge margins and have much smoother and playable gameplay in more games years from now. You’re acting as if frame gen doesn’t exist/make a difference. It all depends on the type of games you play. If you play single player games mainly, frame gen is the biggest boost to smoother gameplay we have seen in 10 years.

      You sound like Jensen with that pitch there. As I said, by the time its mass implemented, there will be a better frame gen with the 5000 series, mark my words.
      Its like when Nvidia shilled us on ray tracing for the 2000 series. But as someone who owned a mobile 2070, the feature was worthless because there were barely games that supported it and performance was bad on the ones that did have RT.
      It wasn't until the 3000 series where it was actually implemented well.
      Also, I think you're ONLY factoring frame gen and portability. Legion has a better screen, faster RAM, better CPU, quieter fans, bigger SSD, better pure GPU performance.
      So 2 things the Asus has over the 6 or more the Lenovo has over it.
