I love the parts that show what "goes wrong" like when the screw falls in the tray or when the zip ties are needed. These are the sorts of problems that happen to me! Thank you for this fabulous video.
This door is not exactly like mine but this video does help. My seal attaches with 2 sided adhesive tape. it's been a chore so fare but I think I can do it.
Thank you for the video. My roommate threw out the old seal because it was ripping apart, so I don’t exactly remember what it looked like other than it was brown and only had little ridges on the bottom/top (not a T maybe, it was ripped to shreds). Also, my shower door only has the screws for the water catch (the first piece you took off). Any idea if this would still work for my shower or if there is another seal? I’ve been searching everywhere to find a seal.
Not sure how old the door might be. At some point they likely switched over to silicon seals like this one, since that's all I see. Some doors have brand names on them in the craziest, places, find that and it should help you with your search.
glad to hear, you might want to look around my channel I have plenty of them. Particularly fond of this recent How To where I finally solved a 3 year problem: th-cam.com/video/IECD0dVc0aA/w-d-xo.html
Great video - but what if there are no visible screws on the drip tray? My shower is fairly new (four years old) - and the brand is Trulite. I'm stumped!
there might be two a couple options; see if you can find a user manual online, or maybe its glued in place? Which in that case you're going to need to use a solvent. The seal might also be slid down a channel, or the screws are really well hidden. Let me know if this helps.
This is a great video. I have the same shower door. Having an issue finding the booton vinyl seal. The one you have in the box. Can you guide me on where to order it? Thanks

Question for you-My drip rail is held by two screws that are closer together than the screws on your shower door (yours are on the end I believe?). The screw holes are basically warped and one screw has completely come off. Without buying a whole new drip rail, do you think it is easier to 1.) Drill new holes into the shower door and rail (i.e. maybe located on the ends similar to where your screws are?) or 2.) Just get larger screws and keep them in place where they currently are? The threads on the screws are ok, but I think where they are screwed into the frame is the issue. Thoughts? (and if I'm not making much sense, I apologize! I've been trying to figure this out for a week now!)
@@MakeItorBreakItNowI chose to use a larger screws and it's been great so far! Of course, now my NEW issue is the rubber seal on one of my windows that I have to figure out how to fix as the end of it tore off.
We have the same door that you have, except that our door does not have screws on the top sweep. How can we remove it be able to get to the vinyl bottom sweep?
That could be a hard one, finding the parts for your specific door. This one was pretty gross but it cleaned up well with a brush and some kitchen/bathroom wipes. I'm surprised how well this cleaning approach worked...
I have a shower door like this one and it is sagging. I have looked at the top to find a recessed screw or screw on the top to loosen. Any thoughts? I will be doing all the seals on the 17 showers this summer!
well, it could be a plastic washer or piece at the pivot point that has given out. With 17 it seems like once you solve one the rest will likely be the same.
I just checked, yes it passes over an outside ledge and you can't see it from either the inside of the shower or from outside the shower, but it is designed to channel the water back into the shower basin.
I have a similar door to yours, I got the bottom screws off but that metal peice appears to be stuck on tight with double sided tape or other adhesive. Would a heat gun be the best way to loosen remove it?
@@MakeItorBreakItNow looks like I have another problem and the cause for the rubber seal sticking. The plastic bushing on the bottom of the door swivel is broken, so the door sits on the metal frame.

There is an easier way. I tried the instruction on this video and the metal plate wouldn't come out after removing the screws. Instead of ripping it off and damaging something, I just pulled the old plastic out on the hinge side (the only way to remove it) and fed the new one into the T grove.
