He's incredible live, in the chorus he's singing and screaming at the same time. That's extremely hard to pull off. It's a style he's developed into. Most of the old stuff is all screams.
+Solace Creat The new Album we good to me. Different than the old but can't keep hearing the same stale stuff over and over. I've been following these guys since Mark of Judas (2000) obviously slowing down a touch, but still cranking out good tunes.....i'll be a fan for life.
Darkest Hour should win best metal album at the grammy's. this really is their best work, not knocking on the previous albums, they rock as well, but IMO this is their best one.

labels are for products..... this is art!!! this has fucking meaning and depth!!!! thought provoking and entertaining. the darkest hour have been lighting up my life for a decade they never disappoint. one of the few bands that i actually own all of there physical albums and have had to rebuy because i wore the discs out .

i think darkest hour are good. They have found a good middle point between heavy riffs and melody. i think they tend more toward melodic death metal than metalcore tho

This one is good they have gone back to the old ways. Still Kris Norris rocks,and i personally listen to the old DH and Kris's new band. :)
there are plenty of good metalcore bands out there who are not what you describe, and are even better than Darkest Hour (not dissing DH, they're awesome). Try As I Lay Dying, Trivium and Lamb Of God for starters.

Death metal to me has to do with the lyrical meaning behind a band's songs. DH has good beliefs and to me I would definitely consider them just heavier metalcore.
