Whenever someone says that America isn't the greatest country in the the world, I always remind them that America gave birth to the idea that legitimate government serves the people and not the other way around. All the other "great countries" got this idea from America.

I'm amazed at the difference between this actor's portrayal (young and handsome dude) and the much craggier, rawer version in the HBO John Adams biopic. Personally, I prefer the latter.

I did not like this History Channel special. Very non historical from the Lexington Green battle to the Bunker Hill battle. I felt I was watching the Patriot with Mel Gibson. One character running around the Battle of Bunker Hill with a tomahawk killing red coats and an unhinged General Gage charging with his sword. An action packed story, but not very historical.
Wait?? Sam Adams wasn't invited to join Congress? His brother John went as he was a lawyer and had clout for representing the British troops in the Boston Massacre
Compare this to the script written for HBOs series John Adams - here you've got completely flat, dull banal speech that could have been written for a cheap Hollywood movie. This absolutely pales in comparison
