I eat Keto but not Keto junk (aka something that is processed in a box) just whole foods, meat and veggies and real butter. It’s really cheap as it’s fatty meats and not lean
prices in alaska really depend on what youre buying and where youre at. im on the peninsula and prices vary...our chicken is more, but our flour is cheaper. the farther north and west of anchorage you go the higher the prices. like barrow alaska, on the far north shore, is extremely expensive...ive heard in the past milk is $10+ a gallon and a case of bottled water can be as high as $40+. and its mainly all shipiing charges to get it to remote areas.
Those prices are higher than here in New York. Amazon has reasonable prices on toilet paper, paper towels & paper plates. I like the convenience of having it delivered
I use sams club for paper towel and tp. Our store brand eggs are 1.99 for a dozen and milk is like 2.49 for a gallon. Butter is insane.. about the same as you. I buy a lot more store brand these days because I just won't pay these stupid prices. Meat varies... I'll get what's on sale and plan the week based on what I can get.
I am in Ohio and primarily shop at Kroger. Our regular prices would generally look like what you showed. I really only buy loss leader items .Looked at Safeway ad and only would buy the beef roast at 3.49/lb and possibly the ground turkey at 2.99/lb and really nothing you showed in your video.
We only have 2 grocery stores too. I have to drive out of town to find another store. Our whole chickens are $3-4 dollars lower. Your prices are higher. Praying for you. Great video. Enjoy your day ❤
I’m vegan. I only buy meat for my husband. My kids eat vegan with me. So our food bill is ok because I don’t have to buy a lot of meat. We don’t buy paper towels. We have the unpaper towels that you can wash and put back on the roll. We try to eliminate single use products from our life. My teen girls use reusable pads that are washable. Ps they actually like them and say they are super soft. I still buy pads on occasion because they might have a trip they have to take or sleepovers etc. but it’s cut down on how many pads I have to buy. I use a menstrual cup. We got washable shower curtain liners. We don’t buy cotton pads to remove make up. We got reusable eye make up remover pads that come in a cute container and have a washing bag. I’m always looking for more ways to be sustainable
There are 5 cheaper gas stations going from the bottom half of one county through the top half of another; one of those is a Reservation ststion. Currently four of them are $4.29 and other one is $4.19. Most of the stations are running $4.59 to $4.89. This time there isnt as wide if price variation from one station to another as in times past. - We sure aren't seeing any drops but we havent seen much for increases either.
Someone was sued a guy for selling TP from his truck at a Walmart for $5 a roll here. He was shut down not sure what happened to him. He thought it was funny. It was sick and wrong
@@AmandasBudgets We had a guy buy up first and third party all of the Lysol of one SKU on one county from stores as it arrived. He was working in 2 more Lysol SKUs in the original county plus the 3 SKUs in two additional, neighboring counties. And then reselling them of course. They did get him shut down and needed multiple semi's to unload his storage lockers. This guy helped propel a re-write and then proclamation of a price gouging executive order from the governor which addressed $5 and $8 rolls of toilet paper, goods going into a fire ravaged community whose access bridge had burned down, and some lesser but questionable instances. The legislature passed something not quite as robust but along price gouging lines in 2021.
@@AmandasBudgets Thats about what we do. I am thinking of reconsidering a kiss though because we have some WELL worn clothes that need to go and I'm thinking of cutting them into single use rags. It feels odd to use a cloth rag to wipe the dip stick when checking oil then throw it away like a paper towel, etc... It makes perfectly rational sense to do so, it just feels off.
Most of these prices are on par with my Safeway up here in NW Washington, but I don't shop there much anymore. Just loss leader sales, because it is too expensive. I go to Winco or Chef Store (you have those in Oregon, too, no membership required) and sometimes Costco, but not often. They are the cheapest. We are spoiled for choice. We have Fred Meyer, Haggen, Grocery Outlet, Whole Foods, Trader Joes, our local food co-op, Red Apple, IGA Costco, and Food Pavilion in our county, but Food Pavilion, Red Apple, and IGA are too far away. I only go to Whole Foods when I need sheep's milk cheese. Sometimes I go to Trader Joe's but parking is a nightmare so that keeps me away. Prices are good, though, at TJ's. Everywhere else is outrageous except Food Pavilion, but I'm not driving 45 minutes for that and getting caught up in border traffic. Gas is $4.59 at Safeway.
This little town is filled with folks who don’t drive. The local store we have sells frozen pizzas for 10 bucks and they are cheap store brand kind of pizzas. It’s disgusting because this people are making 13 a hour and on food stamps working two part time jobs to make a full time income. I’m blessed with the ability to go to the nearest city to shop
I live in South Texas and gas is at $2.99 down from $3.09 I’m sure it will go back up 🙄 Diesel is at $3.39. Paper products are about the same as your area all grocery prices are ridiculous!
@@AmandasBudgets I remember Safeway being the cheap store when I lived in Puget Sound WA. Then I moved to Austin area and Randalls (safeway here) is one of the expensive stores!
During 2020, tp was selling at $8/ roll on Offer Up and $5/ roll wasnt uncommon. I told the other half that I would use a leaf before I would pay that. Because we had run out one too many times, we had space for 2 big packages of tp on the shelf and 1 in the bathroom. The day before tp wasnt hardly to be found, the other half on a semi-whim picked up a mega pack so we were OK. However we did discuss using cloth, whether we would wash or toss, etc... We did then discuss cloth vs paper and the other half 's preference was for a leaf over cloth. If we became desperately broke we might seek paper tp alternatives but not before then.
@@AmandasBudgets toilet paper is too high to flush .... While we were stocking a better pantry in 2020, our joke about the number of bean based items was not too many or we'll be going through our tp stock too fast.
Yikes! Your eggs are more expensive than ours. ITs $2 and change for 12-pks but I can get 5 dozen for $5.50 at Sams so that is what I started doing now that we got an instapot and make hard boiled eggs.
I was just mentioning to another person this: Most folks in our town don’t drive, they make 13 a hour and have to work 2 part time jobs to make a full time job. They live on top of each other to hold a home. There is this Safeway and another store which is locally owned - it’s always empty and they sell frozen store brand pizzas for 10 bucks. Visiting family in the Carolinas & the lowest gas I saw while driving was $2.98. The highest was $3.39. The price of meat hurts. 😂 I think the prices were about the same not including tax. 🫠

I look at these prices and think " cheap", " cheap" , "cheap" 😂 I guess we just pay more over here in Australia
Plus the exchange rate
that depends on your exchange rate.....i think its $66.64 usd is $100 aud at the moment.
small town grocery store will ALWAYS be higher. That’s pretty standard.

I believe both our Winco brand flour and sugar are more expensive and often Winco is cheaper than Walmart.
I’m in west Texas and I’m paying 2.78 a gallon in gas but it will go up tomorrow it goes up Tuesday or Thursday to like 3.58.
Just as ridiculous in Newfoundland. Gas in St. John's is currently $1.85 per litre. It goes up or down every Thursday here.
I drive out of town to shop at that exact brand grocery store bc it's the only place we can afford.

Yes mine is like 35 miles away so we only got once a month. How much is gas where you are? Where do you live friend? State?
