    • @johnnybadboy3475
      @johnnybadboy3475 5 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      Well, if they ever sell it, they’ll sell it for less, both because they don’t know how much they’re worth and stolen art is always sold for less than it’s worth, sometimes only for a tenth of it’s true value.

      @@ghostnoodle9721 How exactly is it "dumb af baby logic"? The value of art is intrinsically linked to the amount the buyer believes it is worth, and it isn't at all a surprise that buyers would pay significantly more for one of these paintings were they to be recovered as a result of the piece's notoriety. How do you suggest we price art? The amount of time it takes to paint? lmfao you wouldn't happen to be a marxist by any chance? art is the one thing that gets labor theorists so heated

      They are in for the long run... this is the YT millenials-flytrap of a (highly overvalued) media start-up. As mentioned: From the former BuzzFeed president. Even if they have endless money to burn now (I think they raised some millions (surely over 20) and are valued at idk, a 100 maybe, they will want a return at some point. (This means when they are big enough the adds will start, no worries.) You are right though: Great quality, nice vids... Paid by venture capital :)

    Insurance scheme. The Museum's board discovered that a number of the paintings, despite being obtained by Gardner over the years, were forgeries. The Paintings were never recovered because the thieves just destroyed them because they were worthless, hence why there's no indication they've been sold to anyone on the black or open market. The paintings they took, while valuable, pale in comparison to the more valuable paintings in the Museum that were not taken and likely were real. The paintings that were taken were one's no one would have questioned the authenticity of them at the time the museum was founded and so they were easy to insure. With pressure to renovate the museum and improve security, the collection at some point would have to be re appraised. Likely some or all of the board members had offered up the paintings as collateral more than once to secure finance and having such assets had them in good standings with the banks. The board new that if appraisers looked closely enough, they would find out the paintings were fakes and their reputation would be tarnished and the overall collection's value would plummet, devaluing the trustees assets overall and potentially leading to financial ruin. The thieves were hired by the board to steal the paintings, needing the guards to be witnesses, then dispose of them. The Trustees filed the insurance claim based on the alleged value of the works stolen, securing the capital needed to maintain the overall value of the museum and its holdings.

      It's a Ponzi scheme for the rich. They can't keep all their billions in cash because it loses its value to inflation, so they look for stuff that holds its value or goes up in value over the decades. When they need cash, they can sell it. But there are so many billions out there that there aren't enough things for them to but to buy to protect all their wealth, so they get into a bidding war. Eventually, a $10M piece of art sells for $150M because some other rich sucker will pay $200M later on. The world hasn't run out of rich suckers yet, but the high end art market is going to collapse of it ever does.

    “A motion detector with no footage on it,” You are correct. The motion detectors did not have footage on it... BECAUSE ITS A MOTION DETECTOR, NOT A CAMERA. The camera wouldn’t have footage on it anyway because it’s stored on a DVR or NVR, but I’m not concerned about that.

    The Daytona that was parked in the front of the Isabella museum at 12:49am was there for 5 minutes or less. The car drove off. When the 2 fake police enter thru the employee entrance the fake cops stated that they had some kind of arrest warrant for one of the guards. The story conflict because when upon entering the museum the fake cops stated this is a robbing the place. In the 81 minutes of the fingering the place it my theory is that when the second frame hit the floor on top of the 1st frame that was on the floor the 2 robbers were were afraid that someone heard them and they stopped for 20 minutes. The sensor went blank for 20 minutes without any movement in my opinion. The process after the 20 minutes they got back to work. Also the blue room on where a painting went missing. On the video surveillance there was activity but I doubt the 2 took any pictures from the blue room..The person of interest was not mentioned in this video I think. I think some but not all the painting would be returned. I wishing could see the surveillance video of the employee entrance and the lobby during the robbery.
