It’s because deep down Peter doesn’t believe in redemption he only fights for it because he’s desperate not to have to cross that line and to kill his enemies.
One thing the symbiote proves is that Peter is always holding back the urge to demolish his enemies and rendering them into grizzle
Sandman, Tombstone and Mysterio were all villains who tried to turn over a new life by the game’s start, but were roped back in because of things outside of their control.
So I feel this is Peter’s doubts bleeding through.
Martin Li helped Peter and now Peter is using his new powers from Li to help everyone. “When you help someone, you help everyone.”
Ironic that Li went into his head to save rather than try to corrupt him in what he tried to do in the first game.

I love how Martin Li's redemption was done, he is one of the good guys now, but isn’t off the hook and Miles doesn’t forgive him for what he did. But he turns himself in, and answers for his crimes and doesn’t expect or want forgiveness. He’s honestly my favorite Spider-Man villain in recent memory. If a TASM 3 with Andrew Garfield ever gets made, I’d love for Mister Negative to be the villain of that movie, because I think he would bounce off of and contrast with that version of Peter in a very interesting way.

The way Miles says "Pete" at 6:27. You can feel just how sad he was finding out how much blame Peter really puts on himself for everything bad that happens to everyone around him.

The delivery of this line had to have been the best in the game man. I felt that!
Hearing Miles sound this mature and focused really makes me wish they fully dropped the whole “Kid” thing per se. His delivery is better overall in this game but he still sounds and emotes in very “kiddish/innocent” ways sometimes. Sometimes it’s hard to take him seriously but then you get scenes like this and it’s like you remember that Miles ain’t a kid. He’s a Young Man with some grit to him. It’s definitely better this game though, hope to see his voice get deeper overall now that he’s actualized himself as a Spider-Man more.

Yeah I get that they wanted to stress that Miles was a younger Spider-Man still new to his career compared to Peter. But it's time to let him grow up. I don't blame the voice actor cause Nadji Jeter is perfectly capable of playing a mature Miles with a deeper voice but the voice direction just won't let him go there.
he was 15 and 17 in previous games, ofc he should sound kiddish, he is a kid. and he is still very young, let him be young but growing. i hate the trend of treating barely adults as full fledged ones immediately, doesn't sit right

Forgiveness is not saying that you forget everything bad done to you or justifying or excusing it. It’s simply letting go of your pain and negative emotions. Not letting them consume you.
i always think forgiveness is based on having empathy for the motives behind his actions, Li obviously told Miles it was revenge and that's why he didn't do it.
That sentence helped me a lot personally
There's a guy out there that really hurt me once, and after hearing it I was finally able to let go of my anger and hate towards him. I don't forget what he did, but I'm done letting my pain consume me so often because of that one event

Exactly. So technically miles did forgive Li. Whoever wrote that scene made a mistake with Miles saying: “I won’t forgive you”. I mean if you’re not forgiving then you’re still letting the anger fester in you.

I mean not forgiving someone is like you’re still holding a grudge but Miles said that he wanted to let his hatred go (which is similar to letting go of a grudge.) I guess the way I can interpret it is that Miles doesn’t hate Li and doesn’t want revenge anymore, however he won’t let go of the fact that Li killed his dad and many innocent people. Idk, that’s the best I can come up with🤷🏾♂️

Martin & Miles actually make a powerful team. Add Peter into the mix & these three would be strong as hell.
What I like about this interpretation of Anti Venom, is the idea that Mr. Li’s negative energy and Venom’s…well…*Venomous* personalities are so alike, that the moment the negative energy makes contact with the traces of the symbiote still in Peter’s blood: the two negatives are effectively cancelled out. Effectively giving Peter control over the symbiote.

Definitely although I think part of Martin Li changing is because he would never forgive himself if Peter died or anything considering Peter and May mean a lot to him. An example of this is in Spiderman PS4 where there's a letter written specifically to her letting her know that their friendship was genuine, that he enjoyed working with her and he hopes that she continues the mission of FEAST

Beside,May knew what needed to be done,when she said to Peter that he knew what to do,it meant that she has acepted her fait,it was her choice not to be saved.
Anyone would feel guilty for letting their family die for the greater good. He probably feels like he failed her too, given the time it took for him to actually stop the virus.

This scene i felt deeply. Knowing how much pain peter went through in the first game i dont blame him for acting the way he was when he had the symbiote he went through so much and it was only 1 spiderman at that time and he had to do it all on his own its so sad to know he lost his aunt and he blames himself for it

I mean he caught Pete red handed when he got out of the door one level below his electric trap in f.e.a.s.t and attacked him shortly after with his corrupted humans.
Pete also says that he wouldn't like to imagine what would've happened to may if she found the room B4 him seeing as it would absolutely kill anyone without those reaction times. I'd say these things pretty much confirm that martin knows.
Well whenever Martin goes into someone's mind, he can see their memories. It's unclear whether he knows Peter is Spider-Man in the first game, he only attacked Peter because he was sneaking in Li's room.
But in here, one of the moments you go through is that you can literally see May's house, if that doesn't let him know Spider-Man is Peter, then he must've been pretty dumb.

I like how martin li redeemed himself to save peter.... but what i dont understand is this..... at this point i feel like li is aware that peter is spiderman but throughout this whole game, it doesnt seem like he showed any reaction to that knowledge. there are a few points where i feel like he should be quite suprised, like when miles yelled peters name out during the mind battle with mister negative or when li and miles together entered aunt mays home while in peters mind.... he didnt showed any reaction once or even brought it up. like huh?
Martin Li knew did he not? In the first game you can tell he suspects him because of their interaction in the FEAST hallway. Not to mention when he took over the homeless people literally in the front of FEAST to attack Peter

So I'm kinda confused by this scene, specifically when Miles unmasks himself. Miles says to Li, "I won't forgive you," but then says he won't hold any hatred towards Li and offers him a fresh start between the two before shaking his hand. This feels like the equivalent of the Batman Begins scene where Bruce says to Ra's Al Ghul, "I won't kill you, but I don't have to save you." Basically just letting Ra's Al Ghul go to his death in a fiery explosion, as if that's really any different than killing Ra's Al Ghul himself. Miles says he won't forgive Li, but the definition of forgiveness is letting go of the hatred and animosity you hold towards the other person. It's like the difference in the two statements is so negligible, it might as well not be there. Even if Miles said otherwise, I believe Miles truly did forgive Li.
I don't think he'll fully forgive him considering his dad died as a result of Martin Li's actions, but it's good he let go of the hatred and offered Li a chance

It was implied in the Spider-Man 2018 game that he knew Peter’s secret identity. When Peter left Martin Li’s office unscathed (surviving the death trap that activated when he infiltrated it), it’s suggested that Li figured out that Peter was Spider-Man.
I finished the first game's story again and your right. It looked like Martin suspected Peter to be Spider-Man after he left FEAST again when those demons attacked Peter

I have a theory that he didn't want to hurt or kill Spider-Man but just wanted him to stay out of his business.
