being a a student of Alluidin's from the seventies, (mills College) has enriched my whole life. Some of his lessons resounds through my whole life of music. Watching this is very enriching. Thank you Alluidin.
This is seriously changing my whole conception of music and explains so much about why I love Indian music and ambient music and music in general. Thank you for documenting this for future generations.
@@JuanPedroBerrocal ah i see. Yes, im friends with his Grandsons, neither of them are muscians. One of them has your same name though! Interesting coincidence :)
Wow, thank you for doing this! Quite a genius and know own knows who he is. Whenever I see stuff like this, I wonder how many other amazing creative geniuses are out there that no one knows about! This way of thinking needs to become much more commonplace and also expanded.
@@JakobPek I loved that moment, so beautiful! Indeed they are horrible. For me these new (timeless) harmonic pathways are perhaps the only way I know of to truly communicate.
I rejoice that he understands that ratios are the ONLY valid way of describing the relationships between musical sounds. Although more and more people are becoming involved with just intonation, they are still addicted to the "standard" Western ways of naming intervals and chords. It is very hard to start the conversation with people who are too heavily indoctrinated by school book music theory. The sun does not revolve around the earth. Luckily, when I was in musical school nearly fifty years ago, I learned to get 100% in all my music theory quizzes and assignments while retaining some artistic integrity without believing in the system I was being taught.
Harmonic Experience is the best book on Music EVER.
Makes my heart smile that I somehow stumbled across this interview with you and teacher!
