Not just the milllenials...I'm a Gen-X and I own a 1972 Airstream Ambassador. It's 29' and so great!! As soon as I start with the remodel, I'll be posting the progress on my channel. Love the Airstream community!!
I do love your representative. He goes to the bathroom as if he were using it & the shower showing you the actual de-mentions available for a person to comfortably use them. It has minimal space & could use just a bit more for comfort. I heard comments made about the frig & the small freezer not being a viable option. She was using hers in a tiny house & was not happy with it. That would also be something I would change. Everything else I could see working even in a long term usage. I would be tempted to use it year round & not just for camping. Humm, I do like Airstream.....
I watch a lot of these videos. I must say this one is well done in many ways, but what it does better than others is this host has a unique quality that is quite endearing and not annoying to me at all. Most of the people I watch on these videos are either unpolished or inexperienced or there might be some other variable that makes them somehow less palatable to me personally, they are still great videos and great hosts nonetheless but I noticed this particular gentleman is quite easy to watch easy to listen to and he definitely shows the things that I would be asking about. Great job
My grandma lives in a trailer, has everything she needs, always outside, even in winter it's warm and dry, she's completely on grid but could go off when needed. It's simple but perfect.
Yea, I was just looking at one I happened on for only $1000 thinking it's a backup to avoid absolute homelessness in the event things don't go my way. However, it would be too cold in most of the US to endure a Winter in one. If you can live at an RV site with hookup, you'll have plenty of electric, water, and internet. One or two electric radiator heaters would probably work out well in a trailer like this. If you're single you can save a ton of money though the RV parks I know of cost $600 to $800 while apartments are $1000 or more so it's not much money saved. I think of it a big car or truck with a ball and trailer as a good backup plan though parking is the tricky part of this unless you can score an acre lot or something though most areas of the US will tell you it's illegal and criminalize you for travel trailer or tiny house living on a lot. My brother put up a tiny house in Arkansas several months ago and he got criminalized so he moved it to a piece of land outside of his municipality in the rural. Local governments need to let us do as we wish for we need to be at liberty to create housing any way possible for there isn't enough to go around and costs are escalating. What did you end up doing?
Growing up in the sixties we’d see an Airstream on the highway and my old man would always call them spy trailers...for years I thought Russian spies were traveling America via Airstreams...Lol 😂
“Boris, why we need decadent American tiny house to hunt down moose and squirrel?” “Because Natasha, if we go to Frostbite Falls, we have to live off-grid!”
It could have been the actual case in some instances. We've had Chinese spies for years, but they're usually here as tourists who might also be snapping up houses with cash money provided by Bank of China. A spy or a foreign real estate speculator can look like a regular person either walking, driving, or even riding public transit, but we can't ever say anything to someone seen in public for we can only assume everyone are US citizens or are legally here doing legal stuff and it's all none of our business. We got fully sold out by our financial elite or executives with our national security and America's future in jeopardy.
Man 48 grand you would think they would at very least put a quality matress in all there trailors considering most of the fixtures are no different then any other rv , so i guess your just paying for the name . I love airstream but they are now just making less and less quality in my opinion , the only thing they seem to be still doing right is the exterior and just throw junk inside . If you look at a clasic airstream compared to any others they just blow any trailer away inside and out , but the ones built now are no different then any other trailor , it seems profit is more important then quality and with that said you dont get what you pay for ...... 50 grand i just dont see it anywhere, this should be 30 at most it doesnt even have a generator.
Airstream builds on a 50+ year life span where as a lot of other RVs are built on 25 years life span(75% of all Airstream RVs are still registered today since Manufacturing started in 1931)🌻
I just seen a 1998 Airstream Bambi listed for only $1000 that looks excellent though can't see the inside of it. Seller just says they want to sell it off. Winter is a great time to pick up something like this at bargain price. I wish I had a place to put it. I guess it could go into a car storage. I want it as a backup place to stay in the event I don't have housing at any point in time for our housing is so expensive, very tricky and not straightforward to secure, and employment is not guaranteed for the rest of ones' working career as well as there may not be a place to stay when we get older to retire or become sick and unable to work. Housing is becoming one of the harder aspects for Americans and everyone living in the US.
Brand-new is not a great value proposition, but 1-5 years old is a pretty decent purchase point for an Airstream. The first-year depreciation is a bit steep because of the premium initial overpricing, but they hold their value after that like nothing else in the RV market. And it doesn't look like granny's kitchen rendered in particle board on the inside.
Not for everyone! That said, They last decades, master-crafted, and make for a mean living space if you're minimalist. Paying for power/sewage/Water hookup is cheaper than rent too! I'm absolutely in love with it.
@@LolTac0Bell they've been having a lot of QA issues with leaks destroying the flooring and totaling the trailer. The older pre 2010 models are better made.
They last pretty much forever and they hold their value fairly well compared to other brands. Not arguing they aren't a bit overpriced, but they are pretty high quality.
Jess Piedra yes, the body is all aluminum like a beer can, but the floor is wood, there seems to be a lot of rotten floors. My trailer is built like a boat at half the price. Escape Trailer Industries.
A used one is far cheaper, especially late in the year before Christmas such as November and December. $48k is so expensive, but you're going to really pay premium to buy a vehicle or travel trailer new. Many who buy new regret it for it sucks the money out of you big time for several years straight. Used is the way to go unless financially independent where you can afford to purchase about anything cash money. I wish wish wish upon my lucky stars to just do something like buy a Tesla Model X and a house, but no not in this lifetime.
' oh no... what wrong with this camper trailer... dont have 2 amber yellow lights and 2 white lights on the rear taillights... not good design... not safety
J Denmark - 1. Because it voids the vehicles warranty. 2. It’s a Range Rover. LOL! I’ve owned one, beautiful, sweet ride, might get you to work and back for a few months without breaking down.
@@Erin-Thor never heard of the warranty issue as rover sells tow packages with their vehicles. they make great tow rigs and i have had quite a few. I might be lucky as I have never had one leave me stranded. Something I can't say about a Dodge with a Cummins, and two Hondas I have owned.
OOO - Cupcake? LOL! A Range Rover isn’t a pickup, it’s an SUV. J Denmark - Great that you like them, good for you. I towed a 23’ Airstream off pavement and that transmission repair was NOT covered by warranty. Even though the terrain wasn’t bad, kind of mild actually, they denied the claim. This video showed a range rover off pavement, the manual states "NOT INTENDED FOR OFF ROAD USE." That was over $7,500 out of my pocket. I’m not trying to argue, I’m trying to save you from my experiences. Doubt me, go try it. LOL!
