I’m still convinced that if Carr hadn’t broken his leg at the end of the season, this Raiders team would have won the super bowl and Carr would be MVP. This was a magical season that almost was. Carr would be looked at so much differently than he is now. Instead of a good to above average QB, he would be thought of as an all time great.
They weren't gonna beat new england with Brady still in his peak in 2016. Not happening.
I believe at best, they would have got to the AFC Championship but would have fallen to Brady and Pats in Foxboro.
If Carr doesn’t break is ankle, they most likely win the season finale in Denver. That would have wrapped up the AFC West title and 2nd place in the AFC. They would have face the Steelers in Oakland.
Somewhere along the line he started playing scared.
@@scattau41 I believe it was somewhere around after week 3 or 4 in the 2017 season. The SNF game against the Redskins, the O-line apparently didn’t block for him due to Derek not kneeling with them in the aftermath of the Trump comments. The following week, he broke a bone in his back against Denver and sat out the following week against the Ravens. It was around there, the gunslinger Carr was gone and he became scared

I remember watching this one. This was a good year to be a raiders fan. I still can’t believe our punter picked up a 4th and 24 all by himself.

This game was INSANE. The Raiders had the most penalties with 23 in a game, and still won. Plus Derek Carr throwing for 500 is also outlandish. Probably my favorite game that year.

Carr was a MVP candidate, Cooper & Crabtree could catch everything, Del Rio was the 'gambling' coach on 4th down, Mack was in his 3rd year, about to win DPoY, Irvin & Malcolm brought on Super Bowl mentality to the defense, despite still being 20th.

Lifelong Raider fan. I've been a Derek Carr fan since before he was drafted - he is a born again Christian with a similar testimony to my father, also a born again Christian - and I am all in on the Saints this year. Can't wait to see what Derek does in New Orleans.

I remember this game so vividly lol. At the time I lived in Illinois and it was hard for me and my dad to watch raiders game since we'd either get the Packers or Bears games. We traveled to Wisconsin to visit my grandparents and was able to see some of the game via someone's Facebook live stream. My dad gave up on trying to stream the game and i finally got it to pick up the game on the last play when Carr hit Roberts for the walk off TD. Sad to see Carr go but the organization really didn't give him much lead way going into this next season. Hope he does well with New Orleans. RN4L

Say what you will about Derek Carr, the dude balled out this game and had a lot of similar games like this one. That 2016 season was one people forget about because he got hurt at the end but imagine if he stayed healthy.
I like this concept. Every big free agent move or trade move. Make a game where that specific player had his best game or his special game
