    Color changing would be incredible. Ability to change as your mood/situation change.

      Color changing is what I’m looking for as well. I’ve read that one of the legacy automakers installed blue and red lights in conjunction with their cars’ air comfort system. They claim that, psychologically, red lights make you feel warmer while blue lights make you feel cooler. I’d love to test that out myself!

    I love it! Have already put in for blue to match my front foot wells on my Y. I actually added lights (spliced in) under my 2nd row seats and even the trunk area in my X to seriously light it up in the evening. Kids call it the space car😂

    Whoa $80 !!! I find some small USB with LED light and a dimmer for $1.50 at Daiso.
    I put them just under the rear central air vent, I find this location giving better floor lightning than below the front seats.

      Holy molly, $80 for those plastic LED lights? Nice to have but not anywhere near that nice.

    You mention you wanted to add "ambient" lighting to make it feel a little more premium, but at $50K + features like this should be standard since you are already paying a premium price. However nice work getting that in there.

    If you have a model 3 dont unscrew your seat... do all this backwards... feed the clips under the seat first then connect it to the footwell light... DONT UNSCREW YOUR SEATS.

    I just purchased these rear footwell lights (Thanks DAErik). I chose them because the will automatically work with the existing lighting functions. I was considering buying a neon light strip kit (that runs along edges of center console and dash) but I want it to automatically turn on when I open the doors. This kit is powered by a cigarette lighter connection and you have to manually turn it on. Any work around ideas on how to hardwire it so that it would automatically light up when you enter the car but stay at max light output when driving?

    • @rmolep

      I just installed those and is annoying the fact that they won't turn on and off automatically. Daerik if we connect those neon light to the foot well will it trigger any alarm? I'm guessing from using more energy from that cable?

    Your video and channel overall has been a great resource in selecting my first Tesla. Going with 2018 Mod s, only 8k miles and under full warranty. Question, is there ambient lights that you would recommend to really light up the interior with door close? I have seen so many options but they all look too cheap for the interior of a $100k car. White plastic inserted throughout is not my definition as luxury. So, any options to obtain a EQS-like ambient lighting affect? If not, I would settle for front and back footwell lights which can be on while driving? Any help would greatly be appreciated. BTW - it is great to see your progression in cars and videos.

    I like it. I got the blue ones. You did not show how to run the driver's side wiring. That is the hardest and I could not figure it out. Everyway I tried the wire was too short.

  • @michaelscanlan4070
    @michaelscanlan4070 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Abstract Ocean now ships the back seat well lighting as 2 lights as you sho daisy chained together. So I’m trying to figure out how to get the drivers side rear light to that side if I made the connection at the passenger front foot well. Not enough wire to snake around the back of the console. Suggestion?

      Yes, you do. It's a real disappointment. You end up losing most of your light in the 2021 Model 3 anyway. I'm trying to sort out a better mounting point.

    Hello Dear I am ordering the foot well light and the front light. I notice you said you plug teh lights into the extender. Is the extender already there or is that something i need to order?

    • @TeslaInventory
      @TeslaInventory  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The rear footwell lights have the cables built into them.
      The extension cables that AO sells help for installation of the puddle lights mainly. The wiring in the door can be very short and these will help create a little more wire to plug in the new lights.

    Great concept, but seems far too bright. Ambient light is supposed to be just that... ambient. Not a flood light. I would love a version much more subtle. Maybe even dimmable/customizable.

    • @AbstractOcean
      @AbstractOcean 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They dim with the front lights, so when driving the lighting is around 30% brightness.

    • @AbstractOcean
      @AbstractOcean 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Coming 'soon'. The first production candidate wasn't a good enough match to the ultra-bright lights, so we're trying a few other SMD (LED) options to get the colors right. Red is done, purple and blue need work.

  • @my2centworth

    Good One! these come on when you put vehicle in park mode (or) when you open the doors?

    • @AbstractOcean
      @AbstractOcean 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      They follow the same behavior as the front footwell lights, so when parked they're at 100% brightness, in drive they dim to around 30%.
