The other people were getting a ticket for not registered boat. Your boat was fine. I don't know why you said it's not a good idea you just made a pontoon boat. you only need to make how you tie together better. outside of that a weekend on the water in it would be great get some solar panels

you started a new fad , offshore camping
you could put the tent on a trampoline base type thing or sow the tent your self
you could use the rod holders on the kayak to mount the tent bed with, so the whole thing can be packed up with ease
and what about hammocks
